Apex Legends: Ultimate Olympus Map Guide

Hello everyone! Today I will talk about the Olympus map in Apex Legends. As you all know, I work as a Professional Apex Legends booster at Immortal Boost. My job is to make sure that the orders I get are completed on time with a high success rate. To get the job done, I have to stay aware of the maps that I play.

Today, I’ve got you covered with everything you need to know about Olympus. Olympus was introduced to Apex Legends with the release of season 7. This is the third map of Apex Legends and this map is a floating city high above the planet Psamathe. Olympus is the second-smallest map in the game and there is a big difference in the size of the POIs in Olympus than other maps like Storm Point or Broken Moon.

Olympus map locations (POIs)

Olympus is one of the biggest maps in Apex Legends and there are a total of 16 POIs in the map. Below is a full list of every named location on Olympus in the Apex Legends.

  • Orbital Cannon
  • Bonsai Plaza
  • Solar Array
  • Grow Towers
  • Gardens
  • Hammond Labs
  • Energy Depot
  • Hydroponics
  • Estates
  • Turbine
  • Power Grid
  • Rift
  • Elysium
  • Oasis
  • Carrier
  • Docks

if there is a Trident vehicle nearby, each location has a great many possible rotation options. Respawn has also put a lot of thought into the use of verticality and various levels from which to fight, for almost all of the major locations around Olympus.

There are different floors to loot in the larger structures across Olympus. Keep in mind that many of these locales are separated by tight, narrow corridors or bridges. You must know the effective methods through which you should navigate the map and do quick rotations.

In the North, you have the Docks, the Power Grid, Carrier, and the Rift. In the middle of the map, you have the Estates, Hammond Labs, the Turbine, the Oasis, Grow Towers, the gardens, and the Energy Depot, In the South, you have the Bonsai Plaza, Hydroponics, Elysium, Orbital Cannon, and Solar Array.

Best locations to land on Olympus

To dominate the Olympus map, first, you must know the best locations to land on Olympus and get a ton of loot in no time. 50% of your match result depends upon where you land in the city. If you land in a location where you get no loot or poor loot then the chances of your survival drop rapidly.

Estates

Estates is the location on the map that is the most popular landing spot on Olympus. if you’re looking for early action then keep in mind that you cannot see fewer than four teams land at Estates at the start of a match, so it’s a great spot to land. On the other hand, Gardens is a location where there’s plenty of cover and verticality, but its more central location leads to more mid-game fights as well. you’re likely to run into more enemy teams soon if you fend off the first few attacks.

Gardens

Most players love to land on Gardens as they consider it their favorite spot to land. when you include the loot bins under the bridge and the large hall beneath the highest section of the Gardens, it’s an extremely loot-dense area. No matter where you land, the opportunities for rotations are limitless, as there is a lot of plenty of covers to fight around. Once you are well-equipped, it also allows you to travel straight to Energy Depot, Rift, Hammond, or Grow Towers.

Rift

Rift is the dangerous and extremely popular portion of the map. multiple teams can land in relative safety at the start of a match due to its sheer size and once they are ready, they fight each other. Keep in mind that the gigantic portal in the center provides a great escape for teams on the back foot, it also allows teams to drop onto Rift at a moment’s notice from other areas of the map.

Grow Towers

On this location, you can get steadily turning, multi-storied loot. Grow towers are a sight to behold. It also includes supply bins sunk slightly into the ground beside the central tower. in the first minute of a match, there’s a ton of loot here and it’s not uncommon for a single tower to kit out an entire team.

Energy Depot

In and out of Energy Depot, there are plenty of different routes. Considering its central position on Olympus, Energy Depot seems very closed off. if you encounter other teams here, you’ll often find yourself fighting on steps and slopes and it makes positioning key in this location. There are also a lot of options for rotations, including Rift, Turbine, Gardens, and Hammond.

Research Basin

If you are looking for very high-tier loot for a duo or trio then Research Basin, an unnamed location just north of Hammond that overlooks the massive laboratory and its surroundings is the place for you. On the other hand, Hammond Labs is an absolute kill zone and there are a lot of other better options than this. You’ll find a large interior filled with even more loot if you can either push into Hammond or head down underneath the basin.

Power Station East

I’ve found Power Station East to be an excellent option if you’re looking for a calmer start on Olympus. Power Station East is located in the far top-right corner of the map. This small area provides enough loot to consistently kit out a duo at least, it also contains Trident spawn which allows for very quick rotations into Rift, Drow Tower, and Gardens.

Power Station West & Irrigation Platform

Power Station West, which leads right into the underground Irrigation Platform, and is unnamed but has loot-packed in it. They can be considered one loot location as both of these spots are so tightly packed. Most players don’t know how much loot you can get from both these spots together and how many loot bins are there.

Tridents Spawn

Tridents are the first vehicles to show up in Apex Legends in Olympus Map. They can fit up to three players making traveling with a squad convenient and easy and they are literally indestructible. Players can also fire from the vehicle, so it is best used for traveling.

There are eleven spots where Tridents can spawn, including:

  • Rift
  • Power Grid
  • Orbital Cannon (x3)
  • Hydroponics
  • Grow Towers
  • Gardens
  • Elysium
  • Docks
  • Bonsai Plaza

Key Takeaways for the Best Rotations on Olympus

  • The most lucrative part of the map is the Southern part of the map.
  • Take care not to fall off the map.
  • Trident is your primary mode of traversal.

As compared to the World’s Edge, Olympus is almost entirely open areas.

Rotations in the East of Olympus

Head to Grow Towers by moving through the Orbital Cannon. Choose the location of the Gardens and move into the Energy Depot after that.

If you want to move backward, then your alternate route should be by dropping into the Gardens and then heading towards the Grow Towers. Move to Solar Array and use it to head over to Hammond Labs. Then at last run into the Energy Depot.

Rotations in the South of Olympus

There are a total of two options for you to quickly rotate in the South of Olympus map. The first one is to drop at Elysium and move through the Hydroponics to Bonsai Plaza. If the ring allows it, head on through Solar Array into Hammond Labs. It shouldn’t be a problem to get from A to B as there are Tridents scattered around everywhere.

For the second route, you can drop at Orbital Cannon and move straight to the Bonsai Plaza. From Bonsai Plaza, enter into the Solar Array and Hammond Labs. Play as Octane and place jump pads along the outer rings if you ever want to troll unsuspecting enemies.

Rotations in the West of Olympus

Drop at the Elysium and move on to Hydroponics. After moving into the Hydroponics, head over to the Estates. Then go to the Turbine after clearing the Estates. There is only one effective viable route in the West of Olympus.

Rotations in the North of Olympus

For the North, drop the Gardens and head into the Rift. Hop on over to the Power Grid after clearing it. Head to the Energy Depot and move into the Turbine, after finishing up the Power Grid.

Drop at the Docks for the alternative route and then you need to go through the Carrier and into Oasis. Quickly clear out the Estates and head into the Turbine, after clearing Oasis. You should be swimming in loot as the Northern part of the map is quite condensed and has quite a lot of areas.

Loot Spawn

Just in front of Hammond Labs, there is a smaller structure up these big slanted waterfalls this building itself is not that great but if you head outside, the middle chest will be available in front of you. This middle chest has a very high chance of gold weapons and loot spawns.

Grow Towers is a very popular location. There are three layers within each tower and these are full of supply bins.

Towers District

You can find many items in the Tower District as this area has many high buildings. It can be the perfect place to start a game if you have a Loba on your team. She can spot epic or legendary level loot that is near her due to her Sharp Eye skill. This place is ideal for a quiet start to a game and sometimes this area can be contested.

Oasis

We recommend two places if you want to find golden loot. This area also provides a lot of mid-level loot. To reach the center of the map, run north to several high-level loot areas like the Docks, Transporter, and Soir de Combat, this location can be perfectly used.

Hammond Labs

Although still attractive, this is a quieter place. For starting a game, the loot here is of a medium level, which can be very good. Just move to the Energetic Repository, or to the Residences to get rarer loot.

Best Legends to Play on Olympus

Use the right Legend to play on Olympus. Mad Maggie and her passive ability allow her to move faster when carrying a shotgun. We can see that Respawn is really favoring close-range weapons.

If Maggie isn’t enough proof, the hammer point hop-up being brought back into the game and the Longbow and Flatline exclusively being available in the replicators shows very clearly that the Devs want to have more close-range quarters type of fighting.

Mad Maggie is going to be your first pick when playing Olympus. Also, there are so many places on this map that are indoors, that playing Caustic is such a solid choice. Not to mention that Tridents exist on Olympus, and you can provide his traps on the front and back of the vehicle, which can come in clutch when running into a team.

Valkyrie in my opinion will always be a solid choice in Ranked, given that you essentially have a get-out-of-a-jail-free card with her Ultimate. It is quite easy to hit players going up the ziplines, but having Valkyrie skyward dive makes you a harder target to hit.

Also, having a Valkyrie on your team is clutch because you can scan the beacons around the map to find the next ring location.

These three Legends, Mad Maggie, Caustic, and Valkyrie, are going to be my top three choices on Olympus. Some other great Legends on this map will be Gibraltar, Bloodhound, and Crypto.

Best Weapons to Use on Olympus

Olympus is a kind of map that allows you to use close-range guns due to the mechanism of this map. I would strongly advise rocking one medium-range gun and one close-range gun. For me, I’m probably going to use R-301 with an RE45, or a flatline with a Mozambique or Mastiff.

The double light gun option is something that resonates really well with me because you only have to worry about finding one ammo type. Since the Alternator is now back on the ground floor, and Volt is into the Care package, we have the most automatic light guns in normal loot ever in Apex Legends history, meaning your chances of other players rocking light ammo are going to be quite high.

Don’t forget that you can quickly and easily craft ammo from the replicators if you are in a pinch.

Tips to Win Every Match in Olympus

Get A Team

You need to be able to trust the people you play with and make sure that they will all know each other Playstyle’s and callouts. With this map, you need to have a team that has good callouts and communication because if you start a fight you need to be able to end it very quickly. If you don’t then there’s a 100% third party to interrupt you and if that happens you also need to be able to call that out and be able to work out a way to escape.

Find a Good Drop Spot

The next that must apply while playing on a map like Olympus is to find a good drop spot. Now the question arises that which spot can be a good drop spot. Then, you must know that there has to be a good amount of loot there. If you land on a spot that only has a handful of bins then your team isn’t going to be leaving with a lot of loot and you will be struggling for that game.

When you pick a spot then make sure that your team can all land in different buildings. All get loot and if you happen to be contested then make sure there’s enough to split. So, you can share with your squad and get geared enough to fight with.

You need to have good rotations out. With Olympus, you have two options for rotations because you have trends and you have jump towers. In most cases, you need to have at least access to one of those, in case you need to make a fatty rotation because the circle is ways away.

Another reason to have good rotations out is if you get contested then you start losing the fight so you need to have a way out of there very quickly. Having a good rotation is very key. It’s good to have nice third-party potential.

In Apex’s current situation, the game is very third-party fight-heavy, so if you can secure some early KP off a third party then you will be set for the game and you can just sit back, relax, and ride it out for easy placement points. You need to be like dropping there. If you’re going to spot over and over again making that your home, you need to enjoy fighting there.

In ranked, it is extremely important to know your drop spits, so you can loot everything efficiently. Know where all the loot spots are so that if you have to fight then you must know what’s there.

Don’t fight in the Triangle of Death

The next important tip to follow is not to fight in the triangle of death. For those who are wondering what is a triangle of death then you should imagine the Bermuda triangle and it’s the spot where ships go and mysteriously disappear. There’s also a spot like that on Olympus, where you will go there then your RP will disappear.

This spot is anywhere from estates to Hammond labs, all the way up to the turbine. Most of this area is surrounded by high-traffic areas. A lot of teams are going to be rotating through there. So, if you shoot one bullet then you’ll have an entire lobby on top of you in seconds.

You may be wondering what if you do have to rotate through there. Maybe the circle ends there or maybe you just can’t go around because teams are holding you. You can still run through it but be very careful when doing it. If you have to hold a spot then make sure that your presence is known and people are aware that you are holding a spot.

If you have to go through it then try sticking to the sides and being out of sight as much as possible, even if you don’t want to fight but others may want to and you need to avoid that as much as possible.

Learn to Get Stacked Loot

The next big tip you must follow is to learn to get stacked loot in Olympus. The new POI phase driver that was introduced in season 12 has a very cool mechanic where you can call in three cargo bot loot holders every 45 seconds. If you land there then make sure that someone hits that button right away because the timer will start as soon as they do that and then you loot and then hit the driver again.

There are random robots all around the map that look like a Pathfinder. These guys are slot machines and whenever you see at the marvins, you will see three faces going around in a circle. One will be white, the second will be blue and the third one will be purple. You always want to get it on purple because you can get hops-ups, backpacks, armor, and more from it.

How do guarantee Purple will pay close attention to the bot? When the white face passes and the blue one is about to appear then you can hit it and that way it will always be purple, and make sure you get the best loot every time.

Another fact about these bots is that they are like the cargo bots and loot ticks. They do not respect crafting rotation, so you can get items that are in the crafter from these robots. If Marvin’s arm is sparking while you are looking at him then after you finish playing the slot, getting you loot then you can destroy the robot by punching or shooting him.

Punching is best because it doesn’t make much noise. He will also drop a gold arm and when you pick it up, you can then ping the next closest Marvin. When you bring it to them, just hit the button right away. It doesn’t matter what color it’s on because you will put the arm back on, the face will turn gold and it will split out three gold items. These can be any gold item in the game and can really stack your team in terms of loot.

Don’t get too stressed about Ranked

The next tip is that you don’t need to get stressed about ranked. Olympus is a horrible ranked map and you may be playing a lot and not seeing the results you have in past seasons.

Don’t worry and don’t get stressed about it because this isn’t you slipping as a player, it’s just the state of the map and the game currently. Olympus is a fun map, it’s great for pubs in casual games but for competitive, it just doesn’t have the working that it should.
