Hanwha Life Esports is now the LCK Summer 2024 Champions, it was a battle of Sister teams last night at the Grand Finals against Gen.G Esports. HLE won LCK Summer after 8 years.
It was a five-game final season at the Grand Finals between HLE and Gen.G. Gen.G being the fearless Champions got their dreams shattered at LCK Summer 2024 by HLE which is a Sister team to Gen.G.
HLE winner roaster including Doran, Peanut, Viper, Delight, and DanDy were enjoying their mega win yesterday at finals. With The Worlds 2024 coming soon, this was a great performance to set things in motion. Here are all the highlights, you need to know from LCK Summer 2024 Champions. We got you covered.
Gen.G Esports winning record broken
Gen.G has been phenomenal and could have been on the Golden Road in LOL Esports history. Gen.G had a great 2024 and has won every single tournament they would have made a record but their dream was shattered by HLE in the Grand Finals for LCK.
LOL Golden Road after 2024, will be very difficult as LOL Esports theme is moving to a three-season year and an additional International tournament. However, in 2024 for Golden Road, it was required to win four tournaments.
Next year there will be two additional tournaments added to win the Golden Road for LOL. This will make a total of six tournaments for Golden Road. These new seasons include Regional Winter and a new International Event to be revealed soon. Zeka awarded LCK Summer 2024 Finals MVP
HLE’s Chovy had a phenomenal best-of-five season against Zeka. Chovy had a score of 15-2 against Zeka. This was looking very heavy in Chovy’s favor in the finals. As they have been rivals for a long time. But Chovy has lost 2 of the biggest matches of his career in that time, Worlds 2023 Grand Finals and LCK Summer 2024 Grand Finals.
However, Zeka was worded MVP for his performance at LCK Summer 2024 Champions. He’s now one of the greatest mid-lane players. There are only four mid-lane players that made it to the LCK finals Faker, Showmaker, Chovy and BDD.
HLE winning LCK trophy after 8 Years
HLE’s last win at LCK was at LCK Summers 2016 with their Successors ROX Tigers. ROX Tigers were later acquired by HLE along with their roaster. HLE started playing LCK in the summer of 2018. However, Peanut has been a part of their roaster and has lifted the last trophy they won as well.
HLE has gone through many roaster changes throughout the years. They usually used to face problems before Worlds 2023. They had issues qualifying for Playoffs before 2023. Now, they have improved their game to world-class competition. After all, proving their worth at the LCK Summer 2024 Championship.
HLE was good throughout the LCK season finishing second behind Gen.G’s 17-1 score. They had a great upper bracket against T1 which went to their side with a 3-0 match score. However, the Upper Bracket Finals against Gen.G was very one-sided with 3-1 making Gen.G win.
HLE still didn’t lose their hope and made their way back out of Lower Brackets eventually defeating Gen.G in the Grand Finals.
Peanut in the finals against Sister team Gen.G
Peanut has been a great OG player and has played for different organizations in his career. He has 7 Championships won under 5 different organizations. He first won with ROX Tigers back in 2016, Next year with T1 in Spring 2017.
Peanut joined Gen.G back in 2022 and helped them win three consecutive seasons in the Summer of 2022 and both the Spring and Summer of 2023. But Gen.G got out early out of Worlds 2023 by which Peanut ended their journey with them.
Peanut joined back in HLE and helped them score their long-due win at LCK Summer 2024 after a long time of 8 years. Doran and Delight from HLE now, were also part of Gen.G roaster last year. This clash of Sister Teams was a great watch for fans.
