Augmentation Evoker Spec Overview
Augmentation Evokers are special because they’re the first type of Evoker that focuses on helping others. They can cast spells from a medium distance and most of their abilities work within 25 yards. There are many different talents to choose from, which lets you customize your character for different parts of the game like dungeons, player versus player battles, or big raids.
Just like other types of Evokers, Augmentation Evokers use something called Essence as their energy, and it fills up again over time. You use Essence to do powerful things like causing damage with Eruption or making Ebon Might last longer.
Augmentation Evokers can also use two strong spells, Fire Breath and Upheaval. These spells also do damage and make Ebon Might last longer. Even though it might look simple to choose which spells to use first, the talents you select change how you use these spells. This makes the gameplay more complex and gives you more options when you’re fighting enemies.

Augmentation Evoker Changes in Patch 10.1.5
We will discuss the recent class changes that have been done.
Evoker General Changes
- When you use Emerald Blossom’s ability, the healing flower now appears right away and starts to heal after 1.5 seconds instead of waiting for 2 seconds.
Augmentation Evoker PVE Changes
- Pupil of Alexstrazsa used to shoot out one extra Living Flame each time Leaping Flames was being used. But now, it only launches one extra Living Flame when Leaping Flames is active, no matter how many charges it has.
- There’s a new ability called Dream of Spring. It makes Emerald Blossom heal more (35% more), and it doesn’t have a waiting time before you can use it again. It also makes your Ebon Might effects last 1 second longer, but it requires 3 Essence to use. Also, in the future, Dream of Spring will be a choice you can make alongside Prolong Life.
- You can now use Activate Weyrnstone even while you’re moving.
The special bonuses from the Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible Set are now active:
- When you have 2 pieces of this set, your Ebon Might makes your powerful spells do 30% more damage.
- With 4 pieces, Ebon Might gives all your allies 1% more primary stat each.
Note from the developers: The Augmentation’s set bonus for Vault of the Incarnates will come later in a PTR update.
Augmentation Evoker PVP Changes
- Born in Flame (New PVP Talent): When you use Ebon Might, your Living Flame spell becomes instant and doesn’t have any waiting time while Ebon Might is active.
Augmentation Evoker Leveling
The Augmentation Evoker is a really good choice for leveling up in the game. It comes with lots of tools to control enemies and handle tough fights. Your adventure begins at The Forbidden Reach, a big map with different heights. This makes things fun and interesting as you learn to fly as a Dracthyr.
- You can only create one Dracthyr Evoker in each realm.
- Evokers are special heroes and start their journey at level 58. They begin in a special place called the Forbidden Reach.
- As you explore the Forbidden Reach, you start with a full set of Uncommon gear that’s at level 206.
- At first, you have general Evoker abilities. You’ll pick your specific abilities later in the starter campaign.
In the beginning, Evokers have five abilities: three abilities that match their race, and two spells. As you keep playing in the starting area, you’ll get more abilities.
- Glide (Racial): Control how fast you come down and move while you’re in the air.
- Tail Swipe (Racial): Hit enemies within 6 steps of you with your tail, sending them up in the air. It can stop them from doing things and put some space between you.
- Wing Buffet (Racial): Do a strong wing flap to push enemies in front of you away.
- Azure Strike: Use this spell to hurt two enemies at the same time.
- Living Flame: Use this spell to hurt one enemy or heal yourself or a friend, depending on who you choose.

Leveling Tips of Augmentation Evoker
Here are some easy-to-understand tips for playing as an Augmentation Evoker:
- Use your abilities often: Make sure to use your special moves like Breath of Eons, Ebon Might, Blistering Scales, Obsidian Scales, and Renewing Blaze. Don’t keep them saved up – use them whenever you can.
- Control the enemies: Use your abilities like Terror of the Skies, Seismic Slam, Wing Buffet, Tail Swipe, and Permeating Chill (which comes from Azure Strike) to control and stun the enemies. This is especially useful when you’re fighting close to them.
- Challenge yourself: Try fighting many enemies at once and use attacks that hit a big area. This will help you get better at fighting groups of enemies and help you level up faster.
- Escape tough situations: If a fight is too hard or you’re losing, it’s okay to run away. Use moves like Hover and your faster movement to get away from enemies. There’s also Defy Fate, which can save you from dying.
- Fly with Soar: Remember, you can fly with Soar. Flying is quicker than walking, and it helps you get around faster. This saves time on your journey.
Remember to use Consumables. The right ones can really make you level up faster:
- If you need to heal fast, try the Cosmic Healing Potion.
- For dealing more damage, use the Potion of Spectral Intellect and Shadowcore Oil.
- To have more health, try the Heavy Desolate Armor Kit.
- Also, after beating enemies, try eating Fried Bonefish or Bear Tartare. They make you move faster.
Augmentation Evoker Gameplay
If you already know how to use an Evoker, learning Augmentation will be easy. Some abilities you know, like Hover, Fire Breath, and Living Flame, stay the same. But there are some abilities that Augmentation doesn’t have.
Augmentation is mainly about making your allies stronger. It boosts Ebon Might and makes big shields for the whole group using abilities like Breath of Eons and Chrono Ward.
A good thing about Augmentation is that it automatically gives your allies buffs. You don’t have to pick targets or use special tricks like in other versions. You can even skip picking targets if you want, but you can still do it when you need to.
We have listed down some of the buffs of Augmentation for better understanding.
- Ebon Might: Think of this as a power boost that makes your allies stronger for a short time. It works well when you use your smart abilities often. But moving around a lot can make it harder to keep the power. The good thing is, it comes back quickly even if it goes away.
- Mastery: Timewalker: When you use strong spells, you automatically get better at different things. You don’t need to do anything special, it happens on its own.
- Prescience: This trick helps you hit harder and also makes the enemies feel some pain. It’s especially useful for attackers and can work on many people at the same time.
- Blistering Scales: If you’re a tank, this trick helps you explode and hurt enemies who hit you. With certain skills, you can make it even more powerful.
- Spatial Paradox: This trick lets you cast spells even while you’re moving. It’s helpful for you and a healer. It makes both of you better, even when you’re not standing still.
- Timelessness: This is a trick that makes you good in tough fights with lots of enemies. It gives you the power to control them better, even if you can’t make them pay attention to you.
- Motes of Possibility: These are like special orbs you create. They help your allies use their abilities more often. How much they help depends on what kind of allies you have.
- Draconic Attunements: This is like a special way you can stand to get better at things. If you use it with a special ability, you and your allies get healthier and stronger. It’s like wearing really tough armor.
In addition to making things better, your main goal is to turn on the Ebon Might power and make sure it stays on until the fight is over. To do this, you use strong spells and get stronger while you’re fighting.
Builders
Augmentation uses the strength of Living Flame and Azure Strike to make you better. These spells work like what you know, but they let you try new things. Pupil of Alexstrasza and Echoing Strike are two ways to go, but Pupil of Alexstrasza is really the better option. It works really well with Leaping Flames.
Spender
When you try out Augmentation, you’ll notice that Disintegrate has been replaced by a new move called Eruption. This new move is flexible and gets stronger over time, hitting up to five enemies at once.
Its main job is to help make Upheaval, the new strong move you got, be ready to use again sooner. Eruption is a cool skill, but having to use it over and over while staying still might not be the most fun. Even though Hover helps with this, you might notice that there’s no move like Pyre that you can use while moving around.
Cooldowns
For managing when you can use your special moves again, Ebon Might is really important. You can keep it going all the time if you use it right. But Prescience is different – it comes back after a short time and you can use it instantly. When you use it, you can also use Hover. It would be nice to have more chances to use Prescience because then you wouldn’t have to use it exactly every time it’s ready.
Instead of a Deep Breath, Breath of Eons is now the main special move that you use after waiting for a while. It’s like a big magic attack that hits a bunch of enemies, and you and your allies make it stronger together. When it’s ready, it makes a really strong hit that can’t miss. It also gives you and your allies a special shield that’s based on how much damage you did with Chrono Ward.
Stats
- Item Level: This shows how strong your gear is.
- Mastery: Makes your special abilities last longer.
- Critical Strike: Helps you deal big hits sometimes.
- Haste: Makes you cast spells faster.
- Versatility: Makes you better at many things.
The Mastery: Timewalker makes your good effects last longer. Haste and Critical Strike are also important. Haste makes you cast faster and Sands of Time can hit really hard sometimes.
How to Gear Up an Augmentation Evoker
We will talk about the best items and decorations for Augmentation Evoker.
- With 2 pieces of this outfit, when you have Ebon Might on, your strong spells do 30% more damage.
- With 4 pieces of this outfit, the buff you give to allies based on intellect goes up by 1%.
For the best stuff you can wear, many people suggest using the Irideus Fragment and Vessel of Searing Shadow together. The Irideus Fragment works really well with what your allies can do. When you use it along with their abilities, you make your mind power bigger and make your allies even stronger.
This way of playing is all about working with your team and using the Irideus Fragment at the right time. This makes you smarter and helps your group do even better.
Other Options for Augmentation Evoker are the following.
- Rotcrusted Voodoo Doll
- Igneous Flowstone
- Neltharion’s Call to Chaos
- Beacon to the Beyond
When you’re picking your two Decorations, you can consider several options.
DPS: If you want to do the most damage, you can use Acidic Hailstone Treads with a Toxified Armor Patch. This combination usually gives you the highest damage numbers, better than other options by around 1,000 damage per second. But remember, this setup makes you slower all the time by 20%. The Evoker can still move well even with this slowdown, but it’s something to think about.
No Slow: If you don’t want to be slowed down, there are other choices. Like, you can use Acidic Hailstone Treads with a Shadowflame-Tempered Armor Patch. This keeps a balance between damage and being able to move normally. Another option is using two Shadowflame-Tempered Armor Patches for more protection and defense.
In the end, you can choose to focus on just damage or to avoid being slowed down. It depends on how you like to play. Think about how much you need to move and what kind of balance you want between damage and other parts of the game when you’re picking your Decorations.
Augmentation Evoker in Dragonflight
It’s clear that the real power of the Augmentation Evoker comes from working well with your fellow champions.
When you team up with your allies, it’s like a powerful song with everyone’s abilities coming together. This class can be like art where some allies get a nice boost from Augmentation, and for others, it becomes a big part of who they are.
As you start your journey as an Augmentation Evoker, remember that you’re not just strong on your own. You’re stronger when you and your allies work together. Change and plan your moves smartly, because working together with Augmentation makes you all stronger.
Augmentation Evoker End-Game
When you reach the end-game content, there are three main things you can do: Raiding, Mythic+ dungeons, and Player versus Player (PvP) battles. Each of these activities shows how well your character can do in different ways.
Improve Your Augmentation Evoker
Prescience Issue
When playing the Augmentation Evoker game, many players might wonder: who should the ability “Prescience” be used on? To make your important power-ups work best, it’s a good idea to use Prescience on the enemy that will cause the most damage during the time these power-ups are active. This way, you make sure that Prescience helps the most, increasing the overall damage when it matters the most.
Powerful Start at the Beginning of Fights
Characters like Unholy Death Knight, Arcane Mage, Devastation Evoker, Enhancement Shaman, and those with abilities that come back every two minutes are great options to make stronger from the start. This is because they work well with a special pattern called Breath of Eons that happens every two minutes.
Also Good Choices
- Frost Death Knight
- Devastation Evoker
- Marksmanship Hunter
- Shadow Priest
Other Characters to Think About
- Destruction Warlock
- Frost Mage
- Fire Mage
- Demonology Warlock
Time Skip or Interwoven Threads
Right now, Time Skip seems to be the better choice when you’re in long fights like with big bosses or tough Mythic+ dungeons. It helps you make the most out of your strong Breath of Eons moment by letting you use your special Empower abilities more times. It also makes the effects of Ebon Might last longer and allows you to have up to four Shifting Sands buffs at once. When you add things like Bloodlust or Power Infusion, this strategy can give you a lot of damage in the first minute of a fight. Using Time Skip with these extra boosts works really well together and makes you perform better overall, so it’s a smart option for these tough battles.
Empower Spells
Fire Breath: As an Augmentation Evoker, it’s usually a good idea to make Fire Breath as strong as possible. This way, you can make the most out of its special power called Leaping Flames. Even when you’re attacking just one enemy, your strong Fire Breath can also hurt other injured allies, which helps trigger Essence Burst. This is especially true when they’re being healed effectively.
But, if all the allies nearby are completely healthy and you can’t benefit from Leaping Flames, it might be better to use a weaker version of Fire Breath.
Upheaval: Making Upheaval stronger makes the area it affects bigger, so it can hit more enemies. When you’re attacking just one enemy, a weaker Upheaval is usually enough. But, if you’re facing lots of enemies and you want to hurt them all together, it’s better to make Upheaval stronger so it covers a larger area and hits more of them
Easy Way to Strengthen Rank 1 Abilities
You can easily make your abilities stronger at Rank 1 by using a quick trick with your key settings.
- If you have the “Press and Hold” setting, you just need to press your key and then let go quickly. This will make the ability activate as soon as it’s at Rank 1.
- But if you’re using the “Press and Tap” setting, you can get the same result by pressing your key twice really fast. This will also make the ability work as soon as it’s at Rank 1.
