In different video games, there are different pathways to learn new skills or obtain new badges for your character to make it stronger and to make the game easier for you. In role-playing games like Cyberpunk or Witcher 3, you collect certain things, and then you make a potion of them to increase your strength, intelligence, or other skills, which increases your overall strength as a player.

In some games, you have to complete a certain task, and upon completing that task, you get powers and new abilities that make your character stronger. In some games, there’s another mechanic put in place that adds skills to your character. For example, in Call of Duty, there’s prestige, in which, upon reaching the maximum account level in the game, you get a prestige badge with rewards, and you restart your whole journey again.
Now, in this blog, we are going to discuss a pretty similar thing, but in ARC Raiders. It’s called Expedition, and I’ll be explaining what it does and how to properly take advantage of it in this blog.

What’s Expedition in ARC Raiders:
So expedition in arc raiders works pretty similarly to prestige works in Call of Duty, but unlike prestige, where you don’t have to do much to prestige. In ARC raiders, there’s actually a whole mechanism behind how and what you have to opt into the expedition.
So, in simple words, it is an optional mechanic or a system that lets you reset your character’s progress in exchange for a permanent advantage, like having a bonus stash space for more skill points for the future raider.
The Structure:
| Unlock | Get to level twenty to unlock the expedition from the raiders menu |
| Build Caravan | You need to collect Specific material to build your expedition caravan, like gathering Metal part, arc aloys, etc. |
| Commit Resources | You need commit the looted items to that caravan. (You’re going to lose these items when the expedition begins.) |
| Departure Window | Once the project is complete, a limited-time window opens. It usually resets within 60 days. |
| Wipe And Rewards. | Your raider leaves, which resets most of the gears, skills, and stash Upgrades. |
How Expeditions Work in ARC Raiders:
So you could find the expedition under your projects tab, which is inside the raider’s screen. You can do multiple things there; you could see the progress, the resources you still need, and the schedule for the next expedition set out. It clearly breaks down where you are currently at in the project and what resources you still need. The final stage of the expedition involves gathering these resources and materials while playing the game. And try to take as much as you can because there’s no downside in doing that.
What you lose after the Expedition:
So what do you get or you lose? The good news is that you don’t lose everything. Once you send your raider away, it gives you a chance to start the progression from scratch. Now what do you get to keep?. You get to keep your unlocked maps, workshop stations, your codex entries, Raider Tokens, Cred, Raider Decks progress, Active Leaderboards, trials, every cosmetic, personal event progress, and the bonus Skills Points and Stash Slots you’ve earned from the Expedition.
On the losing side of things, once you send your raider away, you lose the inventory items, the blueprints, skill points, and the player level, coins, and the quests. So you will need to work on them again, but this process will be a lot faster this time.

That is when you decide that you are going to commit to sending your rider to embark on the expedition. After that, you’ll finally be able to access the page Departure.
Rewards:
Lastly, let’s talk about the rewards you’re going to get with this expedition. So after you send your raider out. Your next raider will earn a skill that is highly dependent on the total stash and coins your raider had before leaving for the expedition. You’ll get one skill point for every million coins you had and the count of skill points you get at a single shot is 5.
Apart from the skill points, you also get cosmetics like the Patchwork Raider outfit, Scrappy Janitor Cap, and the Expeditions Indicator icon, and on top of that, you also get to have 12+ stash space as a permanent unlock.
You’ll also gain the following temporary buffs: 10% repair buff,5% XP boost, 6% more materials from Scrappy. You will have these buffs until your next expedition departs, and if you choose not to participate in the expedition, then these buffs will simply expire.
