These past few days there have been rumors for Word of Warcraft coming to Xbox Game Pass. Some players saw and received an email which showcased WoW and an promotion for Xbox Game Pass that said Join Game Pass. This fueled the flame and excitement to players about release of WoW coming to the Xbox Game Pass.
We will be going in detail about is World of Warcraft coming to Xbox Game Pass.
Microsoft cleared a Mistake for WoW coming to Game Pass
Microsoft took the stage at their official X and clarified the whole situation with WoW coming to consoles and Xbox Game Pass. They further said the game was accidently included in the promotion email. Moreover, a correction email will be sent to the users soon. This does not mean that the game will not come to the service or consoles in the future, of course.
World of Warcraft was released back in 2004 to enormous commercial and critical success. For over 20 years it has been the genre-defining Massively Multiplayer Online Role-playing Game for Western audiences. Xbox now owns Activision-Blizzard-King, the corporation behind the title.
A console port has been talked about for years, though no concrete rumors have emerged. It is interesting to see the game be referenced in any way in a Game Pass advertisement. World of Warcraft still costs users $15 a month to play, outside of the cost for each new expansion.
The subject for the original email that Microsoft sent out said. “Play Call of Duty, Diablo IV, World of Warcraft, and more of Activision’s biggest hits with Game Pass!” The World of Warcraft portion of the email also featured an icon suggesting an Xbox console release of the game was coming. Microsoft has now issued a statement attributing all of this to a simple error.
With these rumors, a console version is still unannounced. However, with Microsoft acquiring Blizzard, we hopefully will see the fan favorite WoW making its way to more platforms.
