Modding is one of the best things about pc gaming because it is kind of exclusive to PCs only. After all, on any other platform, you can’t mod your games, while you could jailbreak your PlayStation or your Xbox, but doing that not only voids the warranty, it also makes the console drop in value. The same goes for mobile games; if you paid for a mobile and you try to root it or mod it, and if you get caught while doing it, you’ll get banned from that game for life.

But in pc gaming, most of the time, the devs themselves give you tools to create mods, or they do support them as well. In this blog, we are going to talk about one of those modding instances because in this blog, we are going to talk about Minecraft’s resource packs. What are they? and how to use them in your game.
Many players love customizing their worlds but still struggle to progress or gather resources efficiently. The fastest solution is to buy boosting for Minecraft — letting you level up, unlock items, and explore more without the endless grind.

What is a resource Pack?
So if you have ever played any Grand Theft Auto game, which is modded, or if you have modded any game yourself, then in Minecraft, it is the same thing. A resource pack is essentially a bunch of files related to changing the stock game or something in it. Like, there are resource packs that’ll change the textures of the game.
While some will add new sound effects to the game, you could even change the animation of the game. All in all, it is a simple way to bring something new to the game while not stripping the core code or gameplay of the game.
How to use a resource pack:
So firstly, you’ll have to download your favourite resource pack. So if you currently don’t have one in mind, or don’t know where to get them, then don’t worry, I’ll list down a bunch of them later on in this blog, so you can start your journey with them, and when you get working knowledge about how this stuff works, you’ll figure it out yourself. But now let’s focus on how to use or install a resource pack in your game.
Java edition (PC or Mac Versions):
- Just go onto your desktop and run the game
- From the main menu of the game, click on the options and then select resource pack, and then select open pack folders.
- Now select the resource pack that you have downloaded.
- Drag and drop the .zip (Java) into the resource pack folder.
- Now, to activate it, go to options again and click on resource packs. Now you’ll see available packs and selected packs.
- Click on your chosen pack and drag it to the selected packs section.
- Now click down, and the game will reload with the new resources.
And you’re done.
For the bedrock edition of the game, which you download from either the Windows Store or a mobile or console, things are a little different.
Because in them, you don’t have to locate the resource packs; you just have to click on them, and Microsoft itself imports them into the game. The next and only change is to go to settings and click on global resources, and then tap on your installed one and activate it.
Best resource packs to start with:
So apart from guiding you on how to install these resource packs, I will also list down 5 of them, which might provide everything you need from the game for a while. So here’s the list of them:
- The Ultimate Pack (Every Resource Edited Including Sounds!) Minecraft Texture Pack
- Eclectic Sounds – Minecraft Resource Pack
- Java Aspects | Minecraft PE Addons
- VanillaXBR – Minecraft Resource Pack
- Digs’ Simple Pack – Minecraft Resource Pack
The packs I have listed have been downloaded by thousands of players before, which means that using them is safer. Now, if you outgrow these packs, make sure the ones you’re downloading are from the website that you can trust.
Conclusion:
Resource packs are one of the best ways to get more out of Minecraft without a lot of hassle, and they are also really fun because you can do everything you want in the game without actually taking time to build it that way. The only caveat is that you have to be careful because if you download a pack from a shady website, you might get hacked or mined on by them.
FAQ’s:
Are Bedrock resource packs free?
Yes, there are tons and tons of different bedrock packs that are available for free.
How to use a resource pack in Minecraft?
Download the resource pack. Move it into the resourcepacks folder. Activate it in Minecraft settings.
Can texture packs improve FPS?
It depends on the pack; there are low-end texture packs that improve the game’s performance but lower the visual fidelity while there are some texture packs that provide high-resolution textures and therefore are harder to run.
