League of Legends Game Changers is a big tournament and Riot Games has announced a women’s LoL Game Changers tournament in EMEA. It has been happening for the first time in 15 years and the EMEA region will be the first one to compete in the new format in 2025.
The first event in EMEA is called LGC Rising and will inaugurate the series. The tournament is set to start in August 2025 and will complete in October 2025 during Paris Games Week. The Grand Final will be held at Paris Games Week for LGC Rising.
Valorant Game Changer and LGC Rising
Riot Games is the leader of biggest esports communities in the world with League of Legends and Valorant. After the recent success of Valorant Game Changers, that invited women to compete, perform and win at Valorant esports. However, Valorant Game Changers was also started first in EMEA region and then it moved to a global level with multiple regions in few years.
Riot is making same role with League of Legends with LGC Rising and bringing it to EMEA and then more regions in coming seasons. However, we might be seeing some new rosters and teams emerging with LGC Rising. As only organizations with active women teams are G2, SK Gaming, and Team Vitality.
How LGC Rising 2025 will work

LGC Rising is set to begin in August with online qualifiers and run through Grand Final on October 30, at Paris Games Week. Riot Games is calling LGC Rising a pilot event and hoping for it to grow in the future. Only women will be able to compete in the LGC Rising tournament.
There will be a total of eight teams competing for LGC Rising. The tournament’s format will have teams face off in two round-robin groups of four teams with best-of-one matches. The top three from each group move into a double-elimination playoff bracket with best-of-five matches, though Riot has yet to share whether the Bo5 will feature Fearless Draft or not.
