fc 26 free kick styles

FC 26 is a difficult game to play, especially when you’re just getting started. There are numerous things that you need to take care of before you can consider yourself a skilled player of the game. While the game is still easy enough to pick and play with your friends, if you want to get better at it, it has a massive learning curve, which you have to learn by constantly practicing and overcoming your weaknesses. Which also means that you have to study the game a bit and apply those things in your gameplay.

So, in this blog, we are going to talk about the best free kicks for a beginner in the game. Free kicks are an essential part of your gameplay, and if you master them, you can still win matches based on them. So I’ll list the best three of these free kicks and some FC 26 free kick tips as well. Key Elements:

Choosing the right player:

Choosing the right player with the right playstyle is the most crucial part because each player behaves differently in free kicks, which means that if you select the wrong-footed player for a free kick, then this guide wouldn’t help you much. So here’s the list of stats or things that your players should have under their belt.

  • Free Kick Accuracy,
  • Curve,
  • Shot Pow
  • traits like Dead Ball or Finesse Shot.

Power & aim:

The next most important thing to keep in mind is power and aim because if you use too much power, the ball will overshoot and might hit the crossbar, while if you use too little of it, your ball won’t get past the wall. Lastly, the aim you see in the game is just a projection and not the actual direction of the ball, which means that you can not fully rely on that as well. So what you have to do is aim above the wall and curve the ball into the Box. Now, if you don’t know how to curve the ball, then I’ll be explaining that in a bit.

Spin/curve:

Here’s how to curve free kicks in  FC 26: just use the right stick of your controller (default setting) to put the spin on the ball, and it will make the ball curl around or over the wall without much effort.

Best Free Kicks:

Inside foot curled:

The first on the list is inside foot curled for this one to work, you would need a player with dead ball as well as a right-footed one. So, for this one to work you have to place the pointer on just the right corner of the ball just on the edge of it until you see the “Inside foot curved” below the box.

After that, adjust your camera position and align the projection line above or just over the wall, or you could also use the head of the last player of the ball and curve the ball back into the box . For the shot power, you could use 2 or 2 and a half bars of power for this kick. More than that or less than that will cause the ball to either swirl or not get past the wall.  Keep in mind that the inside foot curve requires some distance to work well.

Outside foot curled:

The second best free kick is the outside foot curved in, this one, you curve back from outside the wall to inside of it. Now, not much has changed in the inside food curve and the outside foot curve. So the process is almost the same, but now you use the outside of your foot and adjust the pointer on the left corner of the ball until it says “outside foot curved”. Now power the shot with two and a half bars, and that’s it.

Knuckle Ball:

Now, this free kick is not natively available in the game, but don’t worry, we are going to get the same results with it being natively available. So what you have to do is to put the point right in the bottom middle of the ball and straight between the walls. Just don’t aim too high or it can fly away from the box, but after aiming it straight above the wall, give the free kick three or three and a half bars of power, and there you have it.  The ball should go right into the goal like a flying snake.  The knuckly ball works really well if your distance from the box is a little farther away because it needs some space to go around.

Conclusion:

Free kicks are a part of the game and sometimes the only way to get scoring opportunities. The ones I have listed above are some of the best and most effective ones, but keep in mind that nailing them takes a lot of practice, which means that if you don’t put some effort yourself, the results will not come your way. So go pick the right player with deadball + playstyle and practice your free kicks.

FaQ’s

How much power should I use?

It depends on the range; if you’re too close to the box, 2 bars are enough. But if you are at a distance, then 3 or 3.5 bars would be enough

When should I use an outside vs an inside foot curl?

Use the outside foot curled where you want to curve the ball around the wall, and use the inside foot curl when you want to make it towards the goal keeper’s near post.

Does player skill attribute really matter?

Yes, the players’ skill attributes really matter in terms of free kick accuracy, shot power, and special traits

Is it better to aim for power or curl?

There’s not a single answer; a mix of both works well.

How do I choose the best free-kick taker in my team?

Select the player with high Free Kick Accuracy, Curve, Shot Power, and Composure as well as the special trait of the player.
