All Ability Changes coming in Destiny 2 Edge of Fate

Destiny 2 Edge of Fate expansion is coming this month, and Bungie recently revealed what is coming in the update. Last week they shared update about the upcoming armor system and changes coming to Exotic Armors. However, Bungie has shared new update on their dev blog, about changes coming to abilities in Destiny 2 Edge of Fate. We will be going in detail covering all ability changes coming with new expansion Edge of Fate.

Destiny 2’s next expansion, Edge of Fate, is coming soon, and Bungie recently hosted a special live stream. In the Developer Live Stream, Bungie updated on what’s to come in the new expansion. Devs revealed new content and some core mechanics changes that are coming in Destiny 2. Buildcrafting, Armor 3.0, gear tiered and new weapons system are getting updated with Destiny 2 Edge of Fate. However, the storyline and questline have not yet been revealed, but it takes place in a new area called Kepler and some new abilities.

Destiny 2 Edge of Fate Release Date

According to the recent dev live stream, it is confirmed Destiny 2 Edge of Fate expansion is coming next month. Destiny 2 Edge of Fate expansion will release on July 15, 2025. You will explore a new dungeon-like destination, Kepler and will include new Dark Matter powers, with more changes coming to the Armor system and weapons.  

All Ability Changes in Destiny 2 Edge of Fate

Edge of Fate is refreshing some core gameplay of Destiny 2 including major abilities, how armor works with new 3.0 system and new endgame. Here’s all the abilities that are getting update in Destiny 2 Edge of Fate.

Titan

Prismatic

  • Reduced the number of fragment slots provided by the following Aspect:
    • Consecration: from 3 to 2

Solar

  • Consecration (Aspect): Increased Fragment slots provided from 2 to 3.

Prismatic/Strand

  • Drengr’s Lash (Aspect)
    • Increased tracking strength of base Suspend wave and Abeyant Leap Exotic-armor Suspend wave.
    • Increased base Suspend wave travel distance from 20m to 30m.
    • Increased Abeyant Leap Suspend wave travel distance from 30m to 35m.

Prismatic/Solar

  • Consecration (Aspect): Ignition no longer has +20% bonus damage

Void

  • Shield Throw (melee): Increased projectile tracking strength by 77%.

Arc

  • Storm’s Keep (Aspect): Benefits no longer stack when standing behind multiple Barricades.

Hunter

General

  • Gambler’s Dodge: Melee energy return no longer requires dodging near an enemy.

Prismatic

  • Reduced the number of fragment slots provided by the following Aspects:
    • Ascension: from 3 to 2
    • Winter’s Shroud: from 3 to 2

Prismatic/Solar

  • Gunpowder Gamble (Aspect)
    • Reduced self-damage from Gunpowder Gamble detonation by 60%.
    • Final blows of all kinds now grant Gunpowder Gamble progress instead of just Solar kills.

Solar

  • On Your Mark (Aspect):
    • Final Blows while at three stacks of On Your Mark now make you Radiant for a short time.
    • Activating your class ability now gives one stack of On Your Mark instead of three stacks.

Arc

  • Ascension (Aspect): Ascension can now activate the following perks:
    • Armor mods
      • Reaper
      • Powerful Attraction
      • Outreach
      • Distribution
      • Bomber
      • Dynamo
    • Exotics
      • Heart of Inmost Light (class item)
      • Gryfalcon’s Reserve overshield

Warlock

Prismatic

  • Reduced the number of fragment slots provided by the following Aspects:
    • Hellion: from 3 to 2
    • Bleak Watcher: from 3 to 2

Prismatic/Strand

  • Weaver’s Call (Aspect): Can now generate Threadlings on any final blow instead of just Strand final blows

Void

  • Pocket Singularity (melee):
    • Increased Pocket Singularity damage vs. non-boss combatants by 20%.
    • Increased Pocket Singularity damage vs. boss combatants by 56%.

All Classes: Titan, Hunter, and Warlock

General

  • Increased damage vs. bosses, minibosses, and Champions by 15% for these grenades:
    • Arc
      • Flux Grenade
      • Arcbolt Grenade
      • Flashbang Grenade
      • Storm Grenade
    • Void
      • Axion Bolt Grenade
      • Suppressor Grenade
    • Solar
      • Firebolt Grenade
      • Tripmine Grenade
    • Kinetic
      • The Rock Grenade (Forerunner)

 All Damage Types

  • Ability energy returns from perks and passive regen now scales based on the requisite stat.

Void

  • Devour: Reduced Devour heal amount from 200hp to 140hp

Strand

  • Suspend: Increased base Suspend duration from 5s to 6s.

Stasis

  • Stasis Shatter: Stasis Shatter damage now stuns Overload Champions instead of Unstoppable Champions.

Arc

  • Flux Grenade:
    • Significantly reduced base cooldown time
    • Increased projectile size to make it a bit easier to stick targets
