Speaking of classic maps, there are several maps that are loved by all veteran players of Counter-Strike and one that has been missed dearly for five years is Cobblestone. It’s time to bag some wins on Cobblestone. Since the launch of Counter-Strike 2 last year, fans have only seen Cobblestone in the trailer but never in the map pool of the game. Fortunately, a well-known map designer named JFX Designs shared that he is currently working on a Cobblestone map on the Source 2 engine.
In this article, we will go over all the shared details regarding the rework of the Cobblestone map for Counter-Strike 2 by JFX Designs.
An Unfinished Project of Cobblestone Rework Map Shared by JFX Designs
On October 12, JFX Designs revealed his recent work of Cobblestone Rework on the new Source Engine 2. In the Reddit post, he shared several images of Cobblestone Rework which look very promising. By viewing the images, we can see that JFX Designs ported the Cobblestone from the 2018 Halloween design which was the final official design put out by Valve.
The design itself received a major clash from the fans due to the move of the A Bombsite, CT jump-up in Drop, change in the B Bombsite platform, and more. Now, the shared images by JFX Designs also include the same Cobblestone but with better lighting and visualization, fans are expecting him to add gameplay changes. As the Cobblestone Rework map is an unfinished project, JFX Designs ensures the fans that he might add some gameplay changes in the near future.
Anyone who has played the last design of Cobblestone in CS: GO knows that it was quite bigger in comparison to other maps and the retake strategy for the CT side was considerably harder. If there is any possibility of Cobblestone Rework coming in Counter-Strike 2 in the official map pool, it certainly needs gameplay changes to even the odds for both sides.
However, there is nothing regarding the official release of Cobblestone Rework, but if you are interested in trying out the latest work of JFX Designs, you can download it and play it.
NOTE: It is an unfinished product and JFX Designs is working on providing a smooth gameplay experience and fixing any texture problems.
Last but not least, if you and your group of friends want to have a friendly match in Cobblestone like old times, you can download it and host a custom match.
