What is Citadelle des Morts?
This phrase translates to “Fortress of the Dead” and it’s the name given to a new spooky Zombies map that’s based in a French Fortress of a fictional European microstate of Avalon near the Mediterranean coast. It has mysterious architecture as a haunting medical castle along with some bizarre elements that give it an eerie atmosphere.
It would be one of the highly immersive map experiences in Black Ops 6. This gothic fortress is built from secret chambers that echo a horrific past. It was built during the Medieval era, and since then, it’s been a nexus for Dark Aether experiments. It gives a hint to the earlier maps, including the Terminu and Liberty Falls.
It continues the story where previous maps left off when the Requiem strike team goes for the Sentinel Artifact. This prevented antigonish Eddie Richtofen’s plan to manipulate Prima Materia. This would take the story deep through Easter eggs and many narratives.

Wonder Weapons
The focal point for this map is the Bastard Sword, a massive medieval claymore that players can use against the undead. It has four elemental forms:
- Caliburn: This version has a flame that will cause massive area damage
- Durendal: it is an electric blade that will stun and eliminate the groups of Zombies
- Balmung: This is an energy-based weapon that causes incredibly explosive attacks
- Solais: Solais is an ethereal blade that brings healing properties to the fellows
Enemy
Citadelle des Morts has come up with a new eerie enemy called Doppleghast. It is an erratic and violin enemy that moves at an incredible speed. This would be a new hurdle for players to tackle its unpredictable movements.
Upgrades
The Vulture Aid Perk-A-Cola would return from the black OPS 2 in this new map. It will increase the loot pool as the variety of drops for defeated Zombies is increased. Plus, it has a Tesla Storm field upgrade that gives players a 10-second electrical charge. It will make the Zombies stunned. Another launch is the Light Elemental Ammo Mod, which can heal the players and damage the enemies at the same time.

It has a mysterious manhole that covers the castle as a teleportation device It will possibly lead to a secret area known as the Pack-a-Punch Machine. Boiling oil traps are included in the map as a place where palmers can pour burning oil on the Zombies. Another tactic to try is the giant cannon in the shape of a lion that will destroy the Zombies within seconds. The Lion cannon is an exclusive weapon that will shoot powerful blasts at Zombies. It contains mysterious functions where players can climb inside for extra mechanics.
