BO6 Season 2 Release date, battle pass, anti-cheat and more changes

BO6 Season 2 is going to be the next big update for Call of Duty going in to 2025. Currently, players are nuked with events like CODMAS, Squid Game event and the brand new Zombies map Citadelle des Morts. Season 2 will include a brand new Battle Pass and a Black Cell Pass. Moreover, major changes are coming in Season 2 to Anti-cheat which will help with integrity of Ranked Play in BO6.

BO6 confirmed new collaboration with Squid Game in a brand new trailer. The BO6 x Squid is set to release on Friday, January 3, 2025. Which will be a perfect start for players jumping in new year. According to the trailer’s description, the collaboration will include new Squid Game operator skins, weapon blueprints, limited-time modes, and more.

While there’s nothing official surrounding which limited-time modes will be included in the collaboration, the trailer appears to show the famous ‘red light, green light’ mode that was featured in the show. The premise is simple, players must run from one end to another, but they must stop moving and stand perfectly still whenever they hear the words “red light,” or risk being eliminated.

Black Ops 6 is finally giving a freebie in the spirit of Christmas season. If you want to buy or play BO6 you don’t have to wait anymore and you can explore all the cool features without paying for it. BO6 is having a free trial week where you can join the action. This will run through the whole week giving you the chance to play and test BO6 fully.

After the success of Black Ops 6 and it’s really cool season 1 it’s getting reloaded for more updates and rewards. BO6 Season 1 reloaded is the mid-season update we’re getting with bunch of new maps, weapon and events. These will include new weapons and Christmas themed skins and weapons.

Here’s everything you need to know about the BO6 Season 2 Release Date, Battle Pass, anti-cheat update, and more.

BO6 Season 2 Release Date

Black Ops 6 Season 2 arrives on Tuesday, January 28, 2025. We know this from the Season 1 Battle Pass timer which reveals when the current season will end. Call of Duty Battle Passes always end on the same day the next season starts, which is always at around 9 AM PT / 5 PM GMT.

This would put the first season at around two and a half months, which is about average for each Call of Duty season. Tuesday is the usual day for Call of Duty seasonal updates.

As for content in Season 2, we don’t have any suggestions quite yet, but you can expect new multiplayer maps, weapons, events, and Zombies content, alongside Warzone updates. It is unlikely we will have another Zombies map as we are already getting one in Season 1, but we could see some new party modes or twists on how you can play Zombies.

Here is everything we can see in Season 2 update for BO6.

  • Season 2 Battle Pass
  • New weapons
  • New Operators
  • New maps & modes
  • Events
  • Weapon balance changes

New Call of Duty seasons always follow the same format, so we know to expect a brand-new Battle Pass with new weapons, Operators, and more. On top of that, there will be new maps and modes during the initial season update and the mid-season (usually four weeks later).

BO6 Season 2 Anti-Cheat Update

Anti-cheat, particularly in Ranked Play, has been a particular sore point ever since the Season 1 update. In a December 16 blog post, the devs promised changes will be coming throughout Season 2 and Season 3. These updates will include upgrades to “our kernel-level driver and brand-new server-side protections.” They said we’ll hear more about these changes as we approach the new seasons.

However, there has not been official patch notes out or a roadmap for Season 2. But we will soon be getting a roadmap for Season 2 in upcoming weeks when Squid Game event is up.

That’s all you need to know about BO6 Season 2 Release date, Anti-Cheat update, battle pass and more.
