With the launch of Black Ops 6, you’re probably trying to grind new mastery camos. Each of the 12 mastery camos offers its own challenges for the players to complete and the gold camo is no exception to it. Today, I’m going to discuss the fastest ways that I have found to unlock gold camo for every single weapon available in the game.
What Challenges are required to achieve the Gold Camo
To unlock the gold, you’re going to need to do a couple of challenges beforehand. However, the best part is that you don’t need to level anything up this time around. There are additional challenges that you will need to complete and there’s a total of 11 different challenges you have to do before you do the 12th challenge which is for gold. This sounds a lot but it’s actually straightforward. Season 1 is also coming in a few weeks.
Step 1: Military Camo
For every submachine gun, shotgun, light machine gun, sniper rifle, marksman rifle, assault rifle, and pistol the challenges are exactly the same. Get 100 headshots to unlock all of the military camos of equipped weapons. All of these challenges are tailored towards the headshot but two of them are going to be special which will be unique towards the different types of weapons.
Every category will have its own challenges but for the headshots, the first thing is that it starts off with the regular challenge for granite. You get five headshot kills and you’ll unlock that camo. The following one after that is for 10 headshots and you will be able to unlock Woodland camo. The third challenge is to unlock you Savanna and that will be 15 headshots that you’re required to get. Get 20 headshots for the Splinter Camo get 30 headshots for the Moss. You’re required to get 40 headshots for Saboteur and 50 headshots for Digital. You only need a total of 100 headshots per weapon in order to fully complete all these challenges.
Step 2: Special Camo
Once you complete all nine of these challenges then two new different challenges will open up. There are special challenges and every single camo has a different challenge to do, so they’re not like just rinse and repeat. The first special challenge for Vengeance is to get 50 eliminations while the strategist combat specialty is active with the AK74. Put on all green perks and that world activates the strategist combat specialty. The second challenge is to get 20 kills with the lerbarrel launcher attached to the Ak47.
Jump in a match any eliminations you get, working towards this Vengeance camo to challenge to get the lerbarrel eliminations would count towards the other version. You can knock these out at the same time and are easy and straightforward to do.
Final Step: Gold Camo
Once you complete all those challenges, you will now be able to do the 12th one and that is Gold. With every single weapon, the challenge is exactly the same. Get a certain number of double kills with the weapon to achieve the Gold camo for the weapons. You can unlock the gold camo for every other weapon in that weapon class after unlocking the Gold camo for a weapon. You’re no longer required to complete the challenge for the weapon that you have already unlocked Gold camo.

Best ways to Speed Up Gold camo Grind
Tip #1
Use an optic that you feel comfortable with and a color reticle that you can see clearly. Different reticle zooms can also really help especially the four times as it can make it easier to focus on smaller targets, especially at longer ranges.
Tip #2
Make sure you have attachments designed around recoil control especially horizontal. Don’t damage that ADS speed as we want that nice and snappy also. Your only focus should be to get headshots, so worrying about your movement speed doesn’t mean you’re missing all of your shots. Attachments like muzzles, under barrels, and grips are very important when it comes to recoil control but can also help ADS speed.
Tips #3
Use Mountain where possible. This sounds incredibly simple but so many players forget that it’s even a feature and even one that can completely eliminate recoil control making it far easier to pick up those headshots. Not only does it help with recoil but it can also limit the amount of flinch you get which is useful when taking damage. Tend to mount with more high recoil weapons like the AK or when the weapon is low level meaning very few attachments are available.
Tip #4
Stick to high ground wherever possible as seeing an operator’s head from above is only a massive advantage but it can also put you above then annoying enemies that just seem impossible to get a headshot at ground level.
Tips #5
Stick to smaller maps if your goal is to unlock Gold Camo. If you average just two headshots for every 10 kills you get and you finish a game with just 10 kills then it’s going to take a very long time to get to 100 headshots. Whereas on a smaller map in the same time period, you might get 40 kills which would mean you’ll get eight headshots rather than the original two. Might not sound like much of a difference in small numbers but with the hundred headshots required, you’re going to save yourself a lot of time in the long run.
Tip #6
For a lot of players facing off Mosh Pit will be by far the best because of the amount of fights you get into but also the smaller distance between gunfights. Hitting headshots at a close to mid-range is far easier than at long range. I’ll recommend you switch to Hardpoint or even Domination. These game modes are often still fast pace which is good for engagement but it can also be easy to read where the enemies are going to be.
Best Ways to Get Headshots for Shotguns, Pistols, & SMGs
Depending on the playstyle that you play can actually get yourself even more headshots eliminations. This depends on the weapon that you’re working on. The first playstyle that I would recommend there are for the weapons that are short-range, so Shotguns, SMGs, and Pistols. Staking out the balcony area is a really hot spot everyone will usually spawn there or the majority of gunfights will be around that area. You can pre-scope in, walk, clear each room, and get ready to shoot as soon as someone pops up.
Best Ways to Get Headshots for LMGs, Marksman Rifles, & Rifles
The second playstyle is for Marksman Rifles, LMGs, and the Ars which could potentially work for these but what I would recommend you do is Mount. For example, there’s the long hallway there at the stakeout, what you can do is Mount those areas and pretty much wait for anyone running by, and then get ready to head tap them. Use an optic that has a two-time zoom, so that you can see a little bit further in and get a nicer lineup towards the head. This strategy works for those types of maps where you have Warhead and Gala which are the best ones.
Final Tip for Gold Camo
Don’t worry about doing the special and the gold actual camo challenges. Worry about doing the headshots especially if you end up playing Stakeout. If you see a stakeout or pit then go directly for a headshot. For example, if you finish the LMG headshot and now you’ve to work on the special camos then switch to a different weapon even though you’re not done with the LMG yet. If you get a map like Warhead then pull out the LMG and go for those double kills or go those unique camo challenges because those aren’t hard to complete. It doesn’t matter what mode you do those on but the headshots are highly.
