Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Release Date

Black Ops 7 is scheduled for release on November 14, 2025, across PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is developed by Treyarch and Raven Software and is set to release in November this year. This upcoming title features a single-player/co-op campaign. The game will mainly focus on David Mason, along with some returning characters in multiplayer and zombie modes. Players will embark on a journey to explore themes of a tech titan’s rise to power and the use of fear as a weapon. Black Ops 6 was a huge success for the franchise, but the new upcoming title will feature new mechanics and gameplay elements. There are plenty of rumors that BO7 will be released on November 14, but that’s not confirmed yet. 

The campaign will be set in 2035 and a direct sequel to BO2. Rumors have it that there will be even more open combat missions. For multiplayer, Omni Movement returns with mechanics you all remember: wall running. BO2 maps are set to return with a futuristic setting alongside new maps. On top of that, the Pick Ten is making a comeback. For zombies, it’s going to be round-based returning, and supposedly, a map like Transit will be the first map. 

Emma Kagan Is Making a Comeback

Emma Kagan is also returning to BO7, as she was teased in a released picture. She is the owner and CEO of the guild. You may know what the guild is from Black Ops 6, or you may not, but here’s a breakdown. In the year 1991, on Avalon, they were the largest of the crime families. Savati Duma was an assassin for the guild. Eventually, she ends up murdering her husband and then turning against the guild. 

Sometime between 1991 and 2035, when Black Ops 7 takes place, all of a sudden, the guild becomes a multinational robotics company that we see in the Black Ops 7 reveal trailer. We see Emma Kagan within this trailer, kind of showing David Mason what this company is all about. Players will fight against a tech titan, and we already know from the trailer, the leader of the guild, which is a giant tech company, is Emma Kagan. 

The Black Ops story can get confusing. With multiple games with multiple endings, what’s happening leading into Black Ops 7? Well, as of Black Ops 6’s campaign, it was confirmed that Alex Mason died in Black Ops 2, eliminating some of those initial multiple endings. The level 1000 operator Samuels in Black Ops 6 has a bio that states Harper from Black Ops 2 fought in LA. Harper is also confirmed to repraise his role for Black Ops 7. This means that Fared and Karma die, and that the celerium worm is let loose to ravage data systems around the globe. 

Modes in BO7

Overload and Skirmish are the two returning multiplayer modes in Black Ops 7. The players are divided into two teams of six players each. They fight for the control of a neutral EMP device. The main goal for each team is to deliver the EMP to the opposing team’s headquarters. Each delivery allows the players to earn points, and whichever team reaches the score limit wins. 

Two teams are formed in Skirmish mode and will battle against each other on a large map. The goal for each team here is to capture points of interest, destroy payloads, and transmit valuable data to score points. Players can also use wingsuits to flank and outmaneuver their opponents, allowing them to use strategic techniques. 

Other modes like Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint, and Search and Destroy can also be included in BO7. There can also be Party Games, including modes like Gun Game, One in the Chamber, Sharpshooter, and Sticks and Stones. 

The game will launch with a multiplayer component featuring new maps. However, the specific number and names of these maps are still to be revealed. There are rumors of six total Zombie maps, including post-launch content. A post-World War II New York City map is one of the rumored locations. 

Key Mechanics and Features in BO7

Black Ops 7 will build upon the omnidirectional movement system that we already see in Black Ops 6. The Omnimovement feature fluidly traversal without relying on advanced movement techniques. There will also be a campaign mode with friends in a co-op setting, playing as elite operatives. Skirmish (20v20) with wingsuits and Overload are the two modes that will be included in BO7. 

The game will also feature customizable killstreaks, loadouts, and perks. Some multiplayer screenshots were heavily criticized for their color palette. There can be boss encounters like the scientist from Black Ops 5. Players are hoping for older mechanics like the classic point system and classic perks like Mule Kick. However, some new weapons will be added to the game, along with new maps, modes, and gameplay mechanics. 

Weapons in Black Ops 7

In the initial reveal for Black Ops 7 during the Xbox showcase, we may have gotten a look at two different weapons. The first one that many folks have been talking about is the one in the hands of David Mason during that little cinematic. This is the M27, but as the game takes place in 2035, there will be fictional weapons. There’s another weapon that David could be seen holding in the key art for BO7 is the new version of Kao-40. That’s probably now what the weapon’s going to be called inside of Black Ops 7, but it looks similar to the Kap-40 that we saw in BO2. 

Black Ops 7 Vault Edition

Reality UK followed up with the leaks from yesterday. He showcased that there will be a new challenge pack coming in for anyone who pre-ordered Black Ops 7. If you pre-order BO7 or you have an existing Game Pass membership, you will gain exclusive rewards. However, this has nothing to do with the vault edition. 

Reznov will be officially available when pre-orders go live, which we are expecting to be the day of the reveal on August 19. One of the leakers, named Alaix, leaked all the content that’s going to be coming in the vault edition. The vault edition bonus content includes the operator collection. There are four operator skins, such as Karma, Harper, T.E.D.D., Reaper, and EWR-3. There will also be a mastercraft weapon collection of five mastercraft blueprints. The next thing is that there will be an ultra gogglegum pack for zombies.
