Japan will be hosting this year’s Apex Legends Championship. ALGS Championship 2024 will take place in Q1 of 2025. There is a brand-new series announced alongside the Champs 2024 venue called BLGS. BLGS will be taking through the remaining months of 2024 as a new series. Apex Legends is going strong with the new Season 22 update. Fans are loving the new E-District map.
Where will ALGS Championship 2024 take place?
The year 4 Championship will be taking place in Sapporo, Japan. The event will take place from January 29 to February 2, 2025. This will be one of the biggest events for Apex Legends and its esports fans. Japan is one of the most competitive communities when it comes to Apex Legends.
This is the first time an Apex Legends Championship is going to be held in Japan or Asia. Both Respawn and EA are proud of taking the Championship 2024 event to Japan. However, the event was originally supposed to take place in Q4 of 2024. Due to double Split playoffs for Champions, there has been a change in to event date and it will be officially live in Japan. The arena is huge with over 40,000 fans to be live watchers of the Grand Finals.
ALGS Championship Year 4 Venue
Champion season for year 4 will be taking place in Daiwa House Premist Dome in Sapporo, Japan. This is a big stadium with a capacity of over 40,000 people to be seated. ALGS Year 4 arena is 3 times bigger than the Year 3 arena which was held in Resorts World Arena in Birmingham. Originally, Daiwa House Premist Dome is used as the home ground for the baseball team.
Why is ALGS Champions 2024 being held in Sapporo?
Sapporo is one of the largest cities in the north of Tokyo with a large population of approximately 1.9 million people. Champions 2024 is strategically being held in Sapporo as there will be a Snow Festival taking place right after the Championship Finals. This festival lasts for a week and about roughly 2 million visit the festival.
New BLGS Open Tournament series announced
Respawn and EA have also revealed a new event for Apex Legends which will be a tournament season and will be an open tournament. This will take place between the time of ALGS Champions Year 4 and the Second Split for ALGS. NiceWigg and Greek will be the face of BLGS Open Tournament.
Format for Apex Legends BLGS series
BLGS will be EA’s open-format competition series which will have five separate weekends for the tournament. BLGS open tournament series will start in October and the total prize pool for the series is 400,000 USD.

Each region will have a total prize pool of 100,000 USD which will be divided throughout the five weekends. Apex Legends is one of the most popular FPS in Japan region besides PUBG and Valorant. Japanese fans are quite well known in the Apex Legends competitive scene and EA will be making a decent amount of money with exclusive merch of Champions 2024.
