New Legend Yunara will Arrive in League of Legends Patch 25.14

Yunara, the unbroken faith, the newest addition to the role with the most cry babies in League of Legends, the ADC role. She used to be a maiden for the Kingu order. She sacrificed herself to hide a powerful darkness in the spirit realm. Yunara’s passive makes her crit steal additional magic damage. This new deadly character is making its way to the League of Legends with Patch 25.14 on July 16th. She comes with a set of unique abilities, allowing her to dominate the enemies in her path.

Her critical strikes deal additional magic damage. Yunara thrives in small, scrapier fights rather than massive, highly organized team fights. She can still do pretty decent in typical team fights when she has her team around her. On the other hand, when you play against her, look at her usage of Q or ult. When you see her activating either of those, it is a good moment to disengage the fight and wait for her empowered Q to wear off. There’s so much we need to learn about her abilities and gameplay mechanics, so let’s dive in and discover how to play this new ADC character effectively.

Yunara Overview

Yunara is a traditional ADC that really excels in late-game team fighting and clearing minion waves. In lane, you basically just farm minions, throw beads every few minutes, and try to poke a little bit with your Transcended Q. Otherwise, you are pretty much just a farming machine till late game. Her E is a great tool for disengaging, but also if you’re somehow ahead of the jungler and camping bot lane. Her W and E combo is are great tool to catch up on unsuspecting enemies. If this champion is in the hands of a really good ADC, you can be sure that the enemy bot lane will look like a fool. In late-game team fights, she’s a monster. Her movement speed, AoE damage, and attack speed are scary as hell to fight against. Yunara’s ability to engage relies heavily on her allies or her ability to hit you with W or empowered W.

Cultivation of Spirit (Q Ability)

Yunara’s Q is her main damage ability. Her autos deal extra damage on hit, and she throws balls at you that generate a stack of Unleash. At full stack, she will activate her super Saiyan mode and gain attack speed.

Arc of Judgment / Arc of Ruin (W Ability)

Yunara’s W is a spinning beat that she has probably used on the dark before that slows enemies and itself, lingering in the air. You can extend its duration as long as it is hitting enemies. After that, it does a little cute explosion at the end. It also slows for 99% for 1.5 seconds. Arc of Judgement is the first ability that is actually a circle in League of Legends. Every other circular ability in League is composed of a bunch of small boxes.

Kanmei’s Steps / Untouchable Shadows (E Ability)

This E ability gives her additional movement speed. She gets a little bit more movement speed when she’s running at enemies. Use this ability to chase down enemies, reposition, or dodge skillshots. She also dashes while Transcended.

Transcend One’s Self (R Ability)

Yunara unleashes her true final Ultra Instinct form, and she upgrades all of her abilities for 15 seconds. This allows her to enhance all of her basic abilities for the duration.

Her Q is now up all the time, so we have free runance for 15 seconds. Her W is now a beam of light instead of a bead, and it still, of course, lowers for 99%.

How To Play Against Yunara

Most of Yunara’s power comes from her balls that she throws at your face, and also her ultimate. If you ever see her using those abilities, you should be running away. Without them, she does have trouble keeping consistent damage on anyone. Especially, without her ultimate, she has no dashes. Just like any ADC, you can kill her by just looking at her general direction with an assassin. Her ultimate does last for 15 seconds, giving you a chance to attack her right after it ends. When her Q is activated, you should 100% stay away from the target she’s hitting. Since the Q will bounce back some damage behind her. Her W is also her only way to slow you down, and that ability also happens to be extremely small. If you dodge this ability, she becomes very vulnerable if her teammates are not around. If she ever catches you with her W and she’s slightly ahead, you might be in trouble. You want her to use her abilities more reactively than proactively. This way, she has to use her abilities to disengage.
