How to Get Lost Lament Exotic Quest in Destiny 2

The Lost Lament quest is a part of the Beyond Light expansion for which players must own the expansion to pursue its content. You can buy the expansion for $29.99 or see if the expansion is included with a PlayStation Plus subscription or not. Once you have the Beyond Light expansion, you need to first complete its campaign/story. After completing the main story of the Beyond Light Expansion, you will be able to get the Lost Lament Exotic Quest from Banshee-44 Gunsmith located at the tower.

How to Get Lament Exotic Sword in Destiny 2

To acquire the Lament exotic sword, it is necessary to possess the Beyond Light expansion and successfully conclude its storyline. Additionally, we highly advise finishing Variks’ post-campaign, which encompasses the Empire Hunts. This is crucial, as certain steps in the Lost Lament quest mandate the completion of the Variks’ post-campaign, along with the Exo Challenge, which becomes accessible only after the final Empire Hunt is accomplished.

All the required steps to complete the Lost Lament are described below.

Step 1 – Find Dead Exos

The first objective will require you to find 3 Exo’s dead bodies scattered across Europa. There are 9 bodies in total and the fastest three bodies that you can find for the quest are the following.

  • Cadmus Ridge: Go up on the Snow Peak in the southeast direction to come across an Exo dead body. Interact with the body to scan it to confirm the first body.
  • Asterion Abyss: Discover the dead Blue Exo beneath the cliff, adjacent to the Vex tunnel entrance leading to Nexus. Approach the tunnel’s opening without entering, then turn around and head to the left until you come across the fallen Exo.
  • Bray Exoscience: Access the Bray Exoscience facility located in Cadmus Ridge. Proceed to the right and ascend the stairs. Within the first room, eliminate any adversaries present. Navigate to the far-right corner of the room to find the body.

Step 2 – Locate Clovis Bray Exo Head

After finding and scanning three dead bodies of fallen Exos, you need to locate the Giant Exo Head. The Giant Exo Head is concealed within the depths of the Bray Exoscience facility. Ensure you open the quest menu and activate Lost Lament tracking by selecting it. From your current position, proceed to the adjacent room, access the right door, and follow the quest markers to find the head.

Step 3 – Defeat Vex with Sword

Talking to Clovis in the Bray Exoscience will give you the objective to kill 100 Vex and 20 non-elite Minotaurs/Hydras/Cyclops in Europa. The most effective approach for this step is to engage in Vex Public Events or repeatedly run the Perdition Lost Sector. After defeating the boss, exit until the “Cadmus Ridge” label appears, then re-enter the Lost Sector to find respawned enemies. If you run out of sword ammo, locate a public event banner or consider using the Sword Ammo Finder mod, which can be equipped in the helmet. Even if you encounter a shortage of Minotaurs, Hydras, or Cyclops, you can still complete the objective within the same Lost Sector by defeating the initial Hydra and Minotaur, and then re-entering as you did previously.

Step 4 – Complete 3 Side Missions

Completing the first task for Clovis will give you the next task of completing three side missions. If you have completed the campaign of the Beyond Light Expansion, this step will complete automatically otherwise, you can choose to complete the following missions.

  • Reclaiming Europa
  • Empire’s Fall
  • The Dark Priestess

Step 5 – Complete an Exo Challenge

Finish the Exo Challenge, a recently introduced weekly rotating activity that provides potent gear rewards for its initial completion each week. If you’ve already gained access to the Exo Challenge, initiate it directly from Europa’s map. Otherwise, acquire the Old Secrets, New Challenges quest from Variks, and fulfill its requirements to unlock the Challenge.

Step 6 – Defeat Vex with Finishers

For this step, you need to defeat 60 Vex using the finishers. Run the Perdition Lost Sector like you did in the 3rd step. Use the normal RPM weapons instead of the sword to deal damage to Vex enemies and use the finisher at the end to count them.

Step 7 – Complete ‘Glassway’ Strike

Initiate the Glassway strike via the Europa map and battle through to confront the final boss. Upon the boss’s arrival, you’ll encounter a unique Harpy distinguished by a yellow health bar. Eliminate the boss to get the Broken Blade, a quest item.

Step 8 – Deliver the Broken Blade to Banshee-44

After obtaining the Broken Blade, make your way back to the tower and talk to the Banshee-44 gunsmith to give him the Broken Blade fragment.

Step 9 – Complete Bunker E15 Lost Sector

Banshee will direct you to the Bunker E15 Lost Sector in Europa. Simply complete the Lost Sector in the usual manner by defeating the boss. Loot a chest within to acquire the Lament blueprint, another quest item.

Step 10 – Complete ‘Reforging the Past’ Mission

Obtaining the Lament blueprint will unlock a new banner mission named Reforging the Past in which you just have to bring back the fragments to Clovis in Bray Exoscience. Completing the main objective and talking to Clovis will get you the Lament Exotic Sword.

Step 11 – Return to Banshee-44

Upon getting the Lament Exotic Sword, you still need to complete the final objective which only requires you to report back to Banshee-44 at the tower. After completing the final objective, the Lament will be truly yours.

The Lament Exotic Sword Perks

The Lament stands as Destiny’s premier sword and one of the top-tier exotic weapons currently available. When wielded skillfully, its deadly combo strikes surpass the DPS of any other weapon, while its healing properties ensure your Guardian’s survival in the most challenging scenarios. Beyond its prowess, the Lament features an inherent anti-barrier mod, granting the flexibility to use additional anti-Champion mods and expand your weapon choices. The two exotic perks of the Lament are the following.

  • Banshee’s Wail: Hold [Block] to rev the blade, boosting damage, adding shield-piercing to attacks, accumulating stacks with revved attacks, and enhancing heavy attacks with increased damage and damage resistance as stacks grow.
  • Revved Consumption: The wielder is healed by dealing damage to a combatant.

This makes the Lament an indispensable asset for nearly every high-end activity, including Raids (especially the second stage of the Deep Stone Crypt), Nightfall strikes, and Guardian Wielding, where it will be warmly embraced in any fireteam.
