Top 10 Characters in Overwatch 2 TIll Today (2024)

Overwatch 2 has been a huge success for Blizzard. The game has millions of players monthly. There are several reasons for Overwatch 2’s success. The first one is undoubtedly free to play, unlike its first edition, which was paid, and as everybody knows, paid games get less attention than free-to-play games.

Other than being F2P, Overwatch 2 also gets continuous updates, and frequent new heroes are introduced by Blizzard, so your choice of hero can never get stale. Overwatch also has introduced Bimonthly seasons, which means you’ll have new battle passes and new content every other month, so you’ll never really get out of things to do in the game.

Since its bimonthly season, season 7 has also introduced new content and cosmetics. The game also has introduced a new tank hero named “Mauga”. In games like Valorant, Apex Legends, and Overwatch 2 which heavily rely on the abilities and skills of the characters, it’s a necessity to pick up a good hero and master him because if you don’t have enough experience or good aim the only thing that can help you is that character’s skills and abilities But in this blog, we are not going to talk about the new season or this new hero Instead, We are going to rank the top 10 best heroes of the season This list will include all of the best heroes from all divisions and will rank them according to their effect on the game.

Before we start, if you guys are looking for ways to improve your gameplay, you can choose our Overwatch 2 boost service. We have professional OW 2 players available to help you push your rank.

Also, as I will list the top 10 characters to dominate every ranked game, if you do not know the original name, you can check Overwatch 2 Characters Real Name to find out the name of every character.

10. Reinhardt.

The first entry on the list is Reinhardt, a Viking-looking hero who is a tank. He has a prolific kit to take control of the map and provide space for his assault heroes because that’s what tanks are for. The best skill that this old man has is a rectangular shield, which is a damage absorber. This ability can come handy in the earlier situations of the round when you have to take space and control.

His ultimate, “Earthshatter,” is also great for wiping out enemies who are rushing toward the objective and knocking them down. The result of the ultimate may vary because the damage area is 20 meters, which is not that great for mid- or long-range targets. You can also pair him with Lucio to make a dynamic pair. Lucio’s crossfade and Reinhardt’s charge can both be a lethal and destructive combo. His pick rate is around 3.16%.

9. ILLari.

We will get a good number of support heroes throughout this list because of the pick rate and the continuous updates they get. So, the second pick of the list is going to be “Illari.” Because she is relatively new and just got added to the game in the previous season, the pick rates got sky-high because she was a new hero, and everybody wanted to try her out. She has a decent kit consisting of healing and moderate damaging abilities.

Her solar rifle works as a long-range damaging rifle, and her healing gun works if you right-click while aiming at an ally. This gives her a better chance of survival than other healers. Her ultimate is also really good, where she can use it to slow down enemies, and they will get pierced by the solar balls. Luckily, if they get low enough, these balls will just explode. the chance of nailing the ultimate is low, but there is still a chance, and it can come in handy in some situations. She can be a good pair with Zarya, and with her ultimate and Zarya particle cannon, they could do some good damage to the enemies.

8. Cassidy

The first classic entry on the list Cassidy has been one of the best and the most highlighted heroes since the transition to Overwatch 2. In the first edition, he was known as “McCree” but later it got changed to Cassidy as we know and love. He has one of the high-skill ceilings in the game because, unlike other heroes who rely heavily on their abilities Cassidy’s kit only relies on sharp and consistent aim.

Apart from his mid-level kit, he is also quite dangerous in close-range fights because of his right-click burst which can be lethal. His ultimate “dead eye” is not that great because you can’t do much with it against good players, but if you are in low elo, it can come in handy in a time or two. While his ultimate is mid he can be a phenomenal pick if you can play with him.

7. Hanzo:

Another classic hero is coming on this list, and that is “Hanzo.” Hanzo is an assault hero who excels at bowmanship, just like Cassidy. He is also heavily based on aim. He is a good pick for new players because, unlike other heroes, his kit is pretty straightforward to understand and execute.

He is a spammer/sniper hybrid, and if you want to play with you have to maintain a moderate distance from the enemy because if you are too close to them, you can easily get killed, but if you are too far, you will have a really hard time aiming at the opponents. Hanzo’s ultimate “Dragonstrike” is outstanding because if you can use it in a pressured situation, you can easily get multiple kills, but if you don’t get the kills, you will at least push out the enemies. You will force them to get out of the cover where your teammates can kill them. Mercy can be a good pair with him.

6. Moira:

Moira - Overwatch 2 character

Another support hero on the list and this one might be stating the obvious, but let us proceed. “Moira” is a versatile support hero who can be a good healer while also being an impact full player for damaging or finishing low-hp enemies. She was added to the game a year after the initial release of Overwatch 1.

Her kit consists of only two things sucking out the life of enemies or giving healing to the allies which is also good for being an aggressive healer. Her fade is also great for scaping out from ganged-up fights or just scaping the scene while being low. Moira’s ultimate “Coalescence” is a blend of her healing and damaging abilities. It is a beam that will damage the opponents while also healing her allies simultaneously. She can be a great pick for amateur players because her kit is not hard and mastering Moira to its full potential can be a good thing. Her pick rate is around 4%, her win rate is more than 50%, and her overall KDA is around 6.50, so now you know the stats are on her side.

5. Kiriko:

As I told you before, another support hero is on the list. The next hero on the list is Kriko. She was released after the first two weeks of Overwatch 2. Her kit can be impactful because while she is a sole healer, she can hold herself if an ally is not nearby to protect her. She can teleport toward the nearby ally by using her “Swift step,” just like Mercy’s “guardian angel,” to heal them from a distance.

While her kit is not as impactful as Mercy or Moira’s, she can be a terrific healer in close combat and team fights. Her “Protection Suzu” can be really good in some situations. Kriko’s ultimate Kitsune Rush is also really creative. It is essentially a fox that will create a path of healing and acceleration, so if her allies follow this path, they’ll get a boost in speed and rate of fire. Overall, she is a great healer and a lookout for season 7.

4. Soldier 76:

ow2 solder 76

The next addition to the list is a character from Overwatch 1’s first 21 characters, which were released with the game, and it is none other than “Soldier 76.” In my opinion, Soldier 76 is the most beginner-friendly agent in the game. Soldier 76 has one of the best solo kits in the game because he does not rely on a healer to get back his HP. He can be a solo aggressor like an entry fragger in tactical shooters, and he can give an early advantage to his team.

While he does not have a lot of hp, his ability “Biotic Field” lets him heal himself, and his helix rocket can be a 1 shot kill. His ultimate “Tactical Visor” is also really good and easy to use. It essentially gives you more damage and an aim-bot for a brief period where you can kill the entire opposition without breaking a sweat. All in all, he can fit in any team and can be a good pair with Tracer. While this duo may not be the most realistic pair, they can both make a good hit-and-run case for the opposition.

3. Genji

Finally, we are in the top three of this list, and the third spot is for “Genji.” He is one of the most annoying heroes to play against because of his speed, blades, and movement. Genji is a fast, agile hero with a high skill ceiling. He can become a headache to play against, and his kit certainly has all the elements to make him a great pick for you.

There is no doubt that he is a hard to master hero, but once you do master him, it can become your main hero to play with. His double jump combined with his abilities “shuriken” and “deflect” can be lethal for the opposition. in my opinion, his ultimate “Dragonblade” is, at best, mid, so we are not going to talk about it. He can be a really good pair with Zarya because Zarya’s Projected Barrier can provide Genji the protection that he needs while he is diving into the enemy team. This can allow him to deal damage without being immediately focused.

2. Mercy:

Mercy got the runner-up position on the list, and that makes her the fourth support hero on the list and the second from the original 21 after the inclusion of Soldier 76 in the list. Mercy is an incredible healer and can easily be a difference-maker in a team. Although she doesn’t have a good damaging ability like Moira or Cassidy. she is still one of the best healers in the game because of her longevity and continuous updates on her Kit.

She is the most healing-oriented support hero in the game. Her ability to revive her allies is a top-notch skill in the game. Just like Kriko, she also has “Guardian Angel,” which can come in clutch for healing long-distance low-hp allies. Mercy’s ultimate “Valkyrie” is also really helpful if the team wants to get aggressive and rush the opposition and want to take the map control back or if they want to finish off the map quickly. You can pair her with any hero because of her ability to heal and resurrect her allies while also being a guardian angel for everybody is suitable for every single hero in the game.

1. Ana:

The final entry on the list is Ana, one of the most versatile support heroes in the game. Ana is a sniper while also being a healer, making this blend of aggression and support useful and enjoyable. Perfecting her and utilizing her kit to its fullest is hard because of the pace of Overwatch, but if you dedicate enough time to her, she can be your main hero.

Her ability to heal from the longest distances is what makes her unique and distinctive. Her other abilities, like sleep dart and Biotic Grenade, can become pleasant in some situations. While her ultimate is not the best in the game it does have some of its use cases. You can pair Moira with her so it can become a passive-aggressive healing combination All in all, Ana is the hero that you need to keep an eye on in season 7.
