Dota 2 New Patch 7.35d And Matchmaking Features & Crownfall

Finally, the wait is over! Valve has released a new Dota 2 gameplay patch 7.35d you can check the official page for changes, along with many new feathers and a new hero release date.

In this new patch 7.35d, Valve decided to nerf Shadow Fiend, Sven. Also, the meta for Phantom Assassin has been changed because the revenant brooch PA build will no longer work.

HERO BANS HAVE CHANGED

Valve did a great job in taking action against the cheaters who used third-party software to identify what the opponent plays the most but the main question is why they do that kind of thing and the most common explanation is to get an unfair advantage which is bad for the Dota community. There are a lot of things that are still being done by Valve to make the Dota 2 experience better for everyone.

Valve investigated that cheaters have a 10-second window at the pre-game hero ban phase, so they came up with an idea for the sake of a better Dota 2 community by allowing players to put the preference of heroes they didn’t want to play against.

In today’s update valve has removed the pre-game ban phase and replaced it with preferences that can saved accordingly. just click on the heroes tab and select the four heroes you don’t want to see in your games. It’s guaranteed when you join your Dota 2 match at least one of the select heroes will be banned in the match. You have the choice to change the list of banned heroes anytime while leaving the hero ban slots empty will provide you no advantage.

This new ban hero system counters all the problems the previous system had for example in the previous system suggested bans are ignored in the game, you forget to ban the hero, and mistakenly ban another hero. The best part is that targeted bans are impossible now whether you are playing against known professional players or random players in the pub matches all of them have different preferences.

Some game modes like ( Captains Mode, Captains Draft, Ability Draft, Turbo) didn’t have a pre-game ban phase or already had non-standard ban rules. These modes are unchanged.

Dota Plus (New Feature Analytics)

Every Dota player has different preferences some want to get into the match as soon as possible some are willing to play on high skill variance in the game and others are looking for a balanced match.

New patch changes

In Dota Labs, where new things and features are added up. Valve added a new feature limited to Dota Plus users only from which users can see the information at the bottom of the match the ready screen which is match quality, skill balance, overall match quality, and behavior along with that there is an option below “decline the match and queue again” in-case you are not the perfect fit accordingly to the pre-match information is provided.

Valve makes sure that this feature doesn’t give any kind of unfair advantage. It just helps you to accept the kind of match you like.

Why is this in Dota Labs? As we all know it is for the testing purpose to see if the feature works out or not. Even though Valve planned a lot for making Dota 2 matchmaking better. This is a testing feature for Dota Plus subscribers at the moment just to be safe. They will change or add for all of the players when feedback is received.
