All Diablo 4 Changes in PTR 2.0 that Weren’t Mentioned in the Official Blizzard Post

Now that the PTR 2.0 of Season 6 and Vessel of Hatred expansion pass have concluded, several Renown changes, Quality of Life improvements, Masterworking costs, and other additions weren’t even mentioned in the official Blizzard Post of PTR 2.0. Courtesy of Wowhead, they revealed all the undocumented changes and additions of Diablo 4 PTR 2.0 – ranging from Character Customization to Tormented Bosses.

New Additions in Character Customization

Starting with the character customization additions, 

  1. The character creation screen shows every class individually with gameplay footage. However, the iconic campfire scene was removed.
  2. Several new long hairstyles for all the classes.
  3. Accessing of Wardrobe can now be done from the character panel anywhere.
  4. Four new Pigments are added for dyeing – Canopy, Royal Mariner, Cinder, and Sunrise.

Renown Changes

The regional progression is improved with the swapping of the rewards of Renown Rank 4 and Rank 5. It makes reaching the Renown Rank 5 less important in your adventure.

Crafting and Vendors Changes

The several changes in crafting and vendors noticed during PTR 2.0 are as follows.

  1. Obol prices at the Purveyor of Curiosities were changed.
  2. Higher chances to get Uniques from Gambling.
  3. Convert three different types of Gem Fragments into another Gem Fragment type at the Alchemist.
  4. Obducite remains the only Masterworking material, whereas, the Ingolith and Neathiron were removed.
  5. Masterworking costs were changed.
  6. Mythic Uniques can be crafted at the Blacksmith.
  7. Two new Panther Mounts are available for purchase at the Stable Master for 100,000 Gold each.

Quests and Whispers Changes

The changes in quests and whispers were as follows,

  1. The quest icons for Priority and Feature Unlock Priority have been changed. The priority quest has a purple icon, and the Feature unlock priority quest has a white icon with a purple outline.
  2. The quests now display if they introduce or unlock any new system.
  3. The rewards for handing in whispers contain a Greater Cache of Gem Fragments or a Greater Cache of Gold.

Tormented Bosses Changes

The changes in Tormented Bosses witnessed in PTR 2.0 were as follows.

  1. The regular Uber Bosses were removed, allowing players to face only Tormented Bosses which starts at Torment 1 difficulty.
  2. Materials required to summon Tormented Bosses were changed.
  3. Tormented Bosses show up as Whispers.
  4. The drop loot of Tormented Bosses was changed.

  • Torment I: 1-2 uniques, 1-2 summoning materials, 0-1 runes, 1,200 gem fragments, crafting materials and gold.
  • Torment II: 2-3 uniques, 1-3 summoning materials, 0-2 runes, 1,400 gem fragments, crafting materials and gold.
  • Torment III: 3-4 uniques, 1-3 summoning materials, 0-3 runes, 1,600 gem fragments, crafting materials and gold.
  • Torment IV: 5 uniques, 2-3 summoning materials, 0-3 runes, 2,000 gem fragments, crafting materials and gold.

Helltide and Training Grounds Changes

  1. A large amount of Living Steel was dropped from the Tortured Gifts of Mysteries.
  2. The Tortured Gifts of Living Steel were removed.
  3. Dummies can attack and inflict elemental damage.
  4. A Jeweler and a Healing Well were added to the Training Grounds.

User Interface Improvements

Lastly, several UI improvements that were in 2.0 are as follows.

  1. Red Dust is only displayed in the ‘Stats & Materials’ window.
  2. An active effect of a Channeling Shrine turns the resource orb into golden.
  3. The buff limit increased to 16, but Runewords and debuffs take buff slots.
  4. Buffs show duration on mouse-over.
  5. Silent Chests appear on the minimap when you are near them.
  6. 12 new stash tabs were added, but blank.
  7. The action wheel customization contains the New Marker feature for the Dark Citadel.
