Rocket League is finally playable on Android and iOS with the new official Epic Games Mobile Store. Rocket League Sideswipe Season 17 just came earlier this week on August 16, 2024, and included some drastic changes to the game. Now, you can rank up your games and level on the go with Rocket League available on Mobile. Even the patch notes for Rocket League included hints of the game leaving the Play Store and App Store but there was no exact date.
Epic Games finally announced that Rocket League Sideswipe from mobile stores on August 23, 2024. But now with the launch of Epic Games Mobile Store, Rocket League Sideswipe is available to play but there is a catch. As the new Mobile Store is not directly available on both Android and iOS stores, You will need to do a few steps in order to get your hand back on the mobile version of Rocket League.
Epic Games Mobile Store is bringing back the Fortnite back to iOS as well. For now, the app is only available to download in the EU region. Epic is bringing back Fortnite, Rocket League and finally Fall Guys for the first time on mobile devices via its mobile store. You will be able to Rocket Racing as well on the go, with your mobile, be sure to check out the new Inferno Island.
Here’s how you can play Rocket League Sideswipe on both the Android and iOS stores.
How to download Rocket League on iPhone?
In order to get started playing Rocket League on your iPhone, you will first note that you can only download Epic Games Store in the EU region. You will also need an iOS 17.6 or higher version of the Apple Store.
You can follow these steps in order to download and play Rocket League on your iPhone.
- Go to your browser on your iPhone and go to Epic Games Store Mobile.
- On the Epic Games Store website, select the button that says ‘Install on iOS’.
- After the app installation pop-up appears, tap on ok.
- Go to your settings.
- Tap the banner on the top saying ‘all apps from Epic Games Inc’ and select ‘Allow’.
- Go back to your browser on the Epic page.
- Press the ‘install’ button.
- Select ‘install app marketplace’ when the pop-up appears.
- After the Epic Games Store app is installed, open the app.
- Choose the games you want to play.
- Press ‘install app’ on the Rocket League and confirm it.
- Enjoy Rocket League on your iPhone through the Epic Games Store.
NOTE: Epic Games Mobile Store is not available for download as of now in the Americas.
How to download Rocket League on Android?
Rocket League Sideswipe is also available via Epic Games mobile store on Android. You will need to have Android phones running SDK 24 or higher and around 25 MB of storage space for the app to install.
Here are all the steps you need to do in order to play Rocket League on your Android phone.
- Open Chrome or any browser on your Android device.
- Type in the search bar for the address epic.download or search Epic Games Mobile Store.
- Click Install on Android button on the Epic Games website.
- You will get a ‘File might be harmful’ pop-up but you should not be worried and the file is safe to download. Click on Download Anyway on the pop-up.
- Once the download is complete, you will get a notification on your screen.
- Now Open the file. You might see a notification saying unknown app source. You can fix this by going into Settings and selecting the Allow install from this source.
- Now Open the downloaded file again and it will show a pop-up saying ‘Do you want to install this app?’ Click on the install button.
- Epic Games Mobile Store will be ready on your Android phone.
After the Epic Games store is installed on an Android device, you will need to give a few permissions in order to install Rocket League from the app.
You can follow these steps.
- Open the Epic Games Store app.
- Click Install on the Rocket League Sideswipe.
- You will see a pop-up for installing unknown apps from this source.
- Tap on Settings go again and tap the option saying ‘ Allow from this source.’
- Now go back to the Epic Games Store and select Rocket League and it should start downloading.
- Play when downloaded and enjoy Rocket League Sideswipe.
Note: This is a one-time step and will not be required in the future if you want to install any other game from the Epic Games Store.
