How to Get Necrochasm Exotic Auto Rifle in Destiny 2

The Necrochasm Exotic Auto Rifle returned to Destiny 2 alongside Crota’s end. This is a random drop at the end of Crota’s end. so, you will get it as a random drop for defeating Crota. The Necrochasm is a weapon of Sorrow. The necrochasm intrinsic trait called curse bringer creates cursed thrall explosions when defeating enemies. The necrochasm is a 900 RPM Exotic Auto Rifle.

The players can obtain the Necrochasm by completing the Exotic Quest after killing Crota and players can also get the Necrochasm Exotic Auto Rifle in 2-day Contest mode. Any team that completed Crota’s end during the contest mode was automatically awarded with Exotic Auto Rifle. The players were awarded with Necrochasm after winning this contest mode. However, this mode just vanished from Destiny 2. The only method left for the players to obtain the Necrochasm Exotic Auto Rifle is to play the exotic quest.

To unlock the Necrochasm, Players have to defeat Crota’s son of Oryx inside of Protozen which is free for all the players. The players do not have to complete all the encounters. Just the final encounter with the Crota is compulsory. You can find a checkpoint, grab a fire team, and then defeat Crota to claim Exotic Quests. Once you’ve been Crota at the front of the room, you will find his sword and you will be able to interact with it, this serves as the end of the raid vendor for Crota’s end where you can get your one guaranteed red border weapon a week.

Necrochasm Weapon Destiny 2

At the end bottom of the Vendor screen, you’ll find an Exotic Quest called Bottomless Pits. You acquire the quest and you’ll be given a white weapon drop variant of Necrochasm called Husk of the Pit. There will be three steps in the quest, with the first step is that the players have to Defeat Hive with Husk of the Pit. Husk of the Pit’s final blows in the “Crota’s End” raid grant additional progress. You need to defeat 100 Hive enemies with the Husk of the Pit.

Getting into Crota’s end might be the better way to defeat hives but also for the extra progression on this quest step but also because the next step of the quest will have you going right back into the raid anyways. Completing step 1 of the quest and getting your kills with the Husk of the Pit then you will be awarded with Eidolon Ally. This is a Legendary version of Necrochasm. Eidolon Ally comes with the Perks, Arrowhead break, Ricochet rounds, rangefinder, and perpetual motion as well as the origin traits for all Crota weapons called curse Thrall which reads after defeating a target with a melee attack. Final blows with this weapon caused targets to explode for a short duration. This is not the best auto rifle in the game. The bottomless Pit exotic quests will now progress to step 2 where you have to collect 20xEssences of the Oversoul.

There are two ways to earn the Essence of the Oversoul. The first method to obtain the essence is by simply completing encounters inside of the Crota’s end and the second method to achieve the Essence of the Oversoul is by completing triumphs for Crota’s end. The important thing to notice is that the essence of the Oversoul is retroactive. If you’ve collected any already before getting this exotic quest, it will still count toward your progress for this quest.

The Essence of the Oversoul is farmable but it is an RNG drop. So, it may drop and will take time to get all of these Essences. There are also 11 additional essences of the oversoul that you can earn by simply completing certain triumphs. Following the Triumphs to obtain the Essence of the Oversoul.

  • Crota’s end
  • Perfected Truth
  • Unbowed
  • Spoils of Conquest
  • Hidden Depths
  • Retributive Charge
  • Conservation of Energy
  • Feather-light
  • In Unison
  • Enlightened Emanation
  • Threatening Reach
  • Communal Rites
  • Singular Sensation
  • Conquest By Virtue
  • Precarious Balance
  • Equal Vessels
  • All For One
  • Broken Throne

You’ll need Oversoul for both completing the Exotic catalysts and completing the Necrochasm quests. You can see the triumphs from where you can grab Oversoul but it appears every encounter is purely RNG. The running theory is that Crota has a higher chance of dropping Oversouls. Upon collecting 20 Essence of the Oversoul, you will then complete step 2 of the bottomless pick quest and you can claim the Necrochasm Exotic auto rifle from the Sword vendor at the end of the Raid.

Necrochasm being a weapon of Sorrow like Throne and Ostrich trigger, will synergize with chronic grip. Necrochasm was the Arc weapon in Destiny 1. Now in Destiny 2, it is the kinetic weapon.

You have to get Exotic Catalyst for Necrochasm which is Outlaw. There are two plates that you need to stand on throughout the raid that are going to trigger Secret mini-encounters. The first of these, you will find upon completing the second encounter inside of the raid is the bridge encounter. You cross the bridge but don’t go up to the stairs towards the next encounter. Instead, you go to the right and you will see a green glowing plate. You have to equip the Necrochasm and then standing on the plate will activate a prompt in the bottom left corner of the screen that says “Corta’s Minions Appear”.

You have to make sure that you put on some good gear for this as you have only a minute to complete this. A bunch of Gatekeepers and swords are going to start spawning all around this bridge encounter. You and your team need to kill these Gatekeepers as fast as you can before the 90-second timer runs out. There is also a Portal where you start the encounter that will take you back to the other side but use your supers, tractor Cannon, and anything that allows you to kill these enemies faster.

Once all of these enemies are defeated within that time limit, you will see a new text appear that says “Crota’s minions have been defeated”. But if you fail, it will say “Crota’s Minions Vanish”. The best part is that you can attempt as many times until you succeed. The second plate is found after completing the death singer encounter. Before you start the Crota boss fight, you’ll find another plate in the back right of the room. The same thing that you have to do here is to stand on the plate while Necrochasm is equipped to start the secret encounter and you will again have 90 seconds to clear out the Gatekeepers.

This one is a little bit different as three sword bearers will spawn and you don’t have a bunch of swords that spawned like last time. You need to work with your team to take out all Gatekeepers within the time limit. There’s also going to Wizards that spawn in and shoot you. So, you have to be more chaotic but the advantage of debuffs, supers, and anything can help you to kill all the enemies within the 90-second timer.

Swordbearers seem to spawn:

  • On the Left
  • In the Middle
  • On the Right

The gatekeeper seems to spawn all over the arena. If you do mess up, you can respawn them all again. It’s completely fine and just spawn them and see where all the enemies are. Let them despawn and respawn them back again. Upon completing both plates, you will be rewarded with the Necrochasm Exotic catalyst. To complete the Exotic catalyst, you need 35 Essence of the Oversoul similar to the necrochasm quest the Oversouls do count retroactively. Unlocking the Catalyst will upgrade the Necrochasm auto rifle to a masterwork. Once the weapon is upgraded, the weapon will achieve enhanced capabilities, such as enhanced stats and additional perks.

Giving Necrochasm something feels needed because it’s a raid exotic. Players were hoping that it would spawn cursed thrall explosions on sustained fire on a target like kinetic tremors making it more useful against healthier enemies while still retaining Necrochasm’s uniqueness. In PvP Eidolon Aly, the legendary version of Necrochasm, absolutely slaps. Rangefinder/Perpetual Motion on a 720. It’s a laser beam.

if a target is poisoned by Necrotic Grips or a Weapon of Sorrow (including this weapon), you don’t need a precision kill. Any final blow with Necrochasm will trigger the Cursed Thrall explosion. In the Destiny 1 version of Necrochasm where they buffed the cursed thrall explosion to no longer need a precision kill. The origin traits on all the ray weapons give you that curse thrall explosion. Intrinsically Nacrochasm comes with the trade curse Springer which reads precision final blows. This weapon triggers a curse brawl explosion and the final blows with the curse ball explosion refill the magazine. This perk was its main trade back inside of Destiny1.
