Apex Legends Season 18: Patch Notes, Revenant Update, Release Date

Apex Legend’s all-new season 18 “Resurrection” has a lot of content in it. A new legend and map changes So let’s uncover all of it. Season 18  hasn’t dropped yet as of the writing of this blog, so what I’ll be stating will be from the patch notes and from my point of view. The main highlight of this season is going to be the rework, or “Resurrection,” of the legend Revenant (pun intended).

But let’s get an overview of things that are going to be added or changed this season 18 of Apex Legends.

  1. The Revenant rework
  2. Weapon nerfs and buffs
  3. Usual map rotations
  4. Ring update

But if you are new in the gaming space and don’t even know what Apex Legend is, then here is a little introduction to Apex Legend.

Apex Legend is a free-to-play battle royale game set in a post-apocalyptic world. The team consists of 3 players, and the players have to survive through to the end, you know, like a battle royal. The thing that sets Apex Legends apart from its competitors is its skill ceiling and different visuals, which are cartoonish yet realistic at the same time (if that makes sense to you).

Also, we offer Apex boosting services for all the apex lovers to increase their rank! This new season has a lot to learn so let’s start with pushing the rank.

I hope this was enough for an introduction, and if you are still somewhat clueless, then Google is always available. Now let’s get things going.

Revenant Rework:

So just like in season 16, Respawn is not going to give us a new legend to play, and they are choosing a lazy way to play the ball and reworking the stale legend Revenant. This might be due to his low pick rate or his weak kit. Nonetheless, developers are reworking Revenant upside down, changing his class, his passive, and his ultimate, and here you go. Your whole new legend is ready to ship the old mad dawg in new packaging. I will not say that I didn’t see it coming; Respawn teased us in the kill code, but I did not speculate that it would happen this fast.

Aside from the disappointment from my side, Revenant Rework might be the right choice to boost the pick rate of this underappreciated legend. So what changes did they make to him?

First and foremost, the developers changed his class from assault to skirmisher. His kit also gets changed.

Assassin’s Instinct (Passive):

The wall climbing and crouch walking will be faster and will highlight the nearby enemies who are hit below 40 hp for him and his teammates, and it is limitless how many enemies you could see who is below 40 hp. If Revenant hits the enemies, he can also mark them for his teammates.

Shadow Pounce (Tactical):

Respawn said, and I quote, “Unleash a powerful pounce forward. Hold to charge for farther distances”. So this doesn’t explain a lot, does it? Now what they meant is that Revenant will be able to lunge toward walls or hold the charge to move forward.

Forged Shadows (Ultimate):

His ultimate makes shadows around himself as a second shield protecting him from enemy fire, so enemies have to chew through his forged shadows to get to him. It can come in handy in certain situations nonetheless.

Weapon changes:

Charged guns:

They also put in some work on the charge rifle; now it’ll not be a hitscan but rather a projectile-based weapon that has bullet drop, and the prefire laser will also not be there. It apparently also has a charge timer, and it won’t automatically fire because it has had to be charged before the shoot. It’ll stay as a sniper rifle with some cons, but the good thing is that the damage has increased.

All SMGs (R-99, Alternator, CAR, and volt)

Strafe Speed: The ADS strafe scale was reduced to 0.75 (it was 0.85). Headshot multi was reduced to 1.25 (from 1.5). The text is from Apex’s patch notes, which essentially means that while scoping the strafe accuracy will be less, you’ll miss some shots, but if you are not a sweater, then you’ll hardly notice a difference. They tried to balance the game by slightly nerfing all the submachine guns.

R-99:

In this season, they try to balance this gun a little more. Vertical recoil has been increased, so there’ll be no running and gunning this season. The mag size has also been reduced, so the base magazine has been squeezed down to 17 (it was 19).

The white mag has been reduced to 20 (was 21), the blue mag is down to 23 (was 24), and the gold/purple mag is reduced to 26 (was 27). They pretty much remove a bullet from each magazine. I don’t know if you will or will not find a difference because it’s just a single, but let’s move on.

M600(spitfire):

Added barrels for stability; hip fire slightly improved; and recoil slightly improved. A mere buff, if you will, would need to play to see the difference side by side.

Grenades Buff:

So the damaged area of a frag grenade has been increased quite a bit, so the inner circle or radius will have 125 units (it was 96) and the Outer Radius increased to 350 units (it was 320). The Thermite also got a VFX upgrade for better visuals.

Resurrection Map Rotation and changes:

So the newly reworked map King’s Canyon is also in the seasonal rotation. They reworked the whole map in season 17, and in this season they removed some of those annoying rat spots.

It was the same case with Broken Moon’s rat spots removed, and they also added it to the mixtape production and Yard & the Core. They also removed some rat spots from Olympus, so the seasonal map rotation looks like this:

  1. Broken moon.
  2. King’s canyon
  3. Olympus.

Ring update:

So the ring,” aka the Circle of Death, is also getting an update. They gave Ring the damage, time, and size updates.

Size:

The first thing that has changed is the ring’s size. It has increased its radius by 10% per map, which could result in a 20% larger ring 1 surface area. As of now, this is the only size change the ring has had.

Damage:

They also changed the damage and timing of it. Like in ring 2, the damage has increased from 3 per tick to 4 per tick, and in ring 4, the damage has decreased from 20 per tick to 15 per tick.

Time:

The timing for round 1 is that the pre-shrink time has been reduced from 90 seconds to 75 seconds.

Shrink speed on small maps is reduced from 167 seconds to 160 seconds, while on the other hand, for large maps, the speed is reduced from 180 seconds to 165 seconds. The shrink timing has been standardized to 260 seconds on each map. I think that you get the idea of how this works now. I’ll just put rounds and their time difference so this blog doesn’t get that lengthy.

Preshrink time is reduced from 165s to 120s for Round 2. Shrink speed is reduced from 160 to 140, and shrink time is increased by 25 s per map.

Round 3 Preshrink time is reduced from 135s to 90s.

The Preshrink time for Round 4 is reduced from 105s to 90s. The shrink speed is reduced from 100 to 85. The shrinking time increased from the 40s to the 50s.

For Round 5, shrink time was reduced from 90s to 75s. The shrink speed is reduced from 50 to 40. The shrinking time increased from the 40s to the 50s.

The maximum match length

The match length has gotten shorter as well. For the small maps, it is reduced from 21.5 minutes to 19 minutes, and for the larger maps, the timing is 20 minutes instead of 22.5 minutes.

Battle Pass and skins:

So let’s talk about its cost and what skins are coming with it. So as we all know by now, there are two packages of Battle Pass: one is the Premium Battle Pass, and the other is the Premium Battle Pass Bundle. The first one cost around 950 Apex coins, and the other, “the premium bundle,” cost around 2800 Apex coins. The second is relatively expensive, but it does give a head start of 25 levels; the choice is yours. And if you don’t want to spend a dime, you’ll still be able to unlock:

  1. 4 loading screens
  2. Lifeline skin
  3. 11 weapon skins
  4. 200 Apex Coins
  5. 2 music packs
  6. 7 Apex Packs
  7. Win trackers for every legend.
  8. Seasonal badge.

This BP’s main focus in Season 18 is Caustic, Mad Maggie, Valkyrie, Octane, and Pathfinder. The complete list of tiers and levels required to obtain specific rewards may be found in-game.

Final Thoughts

That is it for season 18 from my side I know that I have missed some of the things in this blog like some bug fixes or rank updates but you can find that right out the gate in the game so I don’t think that some of them are not even important I have covered all the necessary information about apex legend’s season 18 “Resurrection” I hope you’ll find this somewhat useful.
