Valorant Agent Tier List Patch 8.0
Tier | Agents |
---|---|
S-tier | Omen, Raze, Skye, Jett |
A-tier | Cypher, Killjoy, Reyna, Chamber, Sova, Viper |
B-tier | Brimstone, Breach, Phoenix, Deadlock, Fade, Gekko, Astra, Sage |
C-tier | Kay/O, Yoru, Neon, Harbor, Iso |
Harbor’s overall kit is viable in pro play but for the most part in ranked all of his utility is fairly underwhelming. Viper wall is the better wall as it gives decay damage and his ultimate can be easily countered. Most of the players will be doing neon movements like temet which is extremely flashy but overall impact Neon can get compared to the other duelist in the game. The stuns in Valorant don’t work and her ultimate was nerfed for some reason and her wall is a worse version of the Phoenix Wall.
Iso has no movement abilities as the wall is very thin so enemies can peek around it and the double tap is fairly useless because in most cases you’ll be traded before you can shoot the orb.
Breach is the decent agent in pro play but in ranked it’s hard to get your team to push or peak with your breach flashes or your breach stun.
Sage is always creative for making walls to make an off angle for himself but the sage heals is a worse heal than the Skye heal and the wall is often instantly broken so playing another agent like Cypher or Killjoy is more viable to anchor sites and map control and give you and your team information.
Astra is a similar problem to breach but Asta can be very strong provided that your team is communicating and playing off the stuns, if your teammates lurk mid-on Reyna instead of entering the site on the suck and stunned enemies it’s hard to get the value of almost half of the kit making your life much harder.
Phoenix has the more predictable flashes in the game and it doesn’t allow for much creativity as well as the fact that his wall and Molly don’t allow for much self-heal compared to Reyna’s devour. Since for sex orbs, you can have a second life but due to lack of movement ability for entry potential makes Jet and Raze a better option for attack.
Tips to play Omen
You need to buy a shorty light, shield one teleport, and keep the classic in your hands. When the round starts pick up the shorty and if you hear the enemy’s footsteps then place the smoke in a cubby position.
In this location, you can dodge enemies’ random spam or utility, and recon utility outmaneuvers your opponents. Omen is powerful for solo queue grind envelopment ranked. If you are in a 1v5 scenario and you want to rely on your radiant brain to outplay enemies with utility and good positioning and if you need one orb or a kill to get your ultimate then don’t focus on picking up the spike but instead try to isolate single enemy in 1v1 gun fight.
Tips to Play Jett
Always use your smoke for the top of the choke point and second smoke on the bomb site where you can go with your dash. First smoking protects you and your teammates from the random d peaks of the enemies allowing you to safely execute the sight and second smoke will protect you once you dash into it and give you the time to pull out your gun and then engage the enemies.
For creating unique angles, you need to take a big jump on the peak of the boxes which will be done by utilizing the updraft. You don’t have to stand still always try to be in a movement position as the speed of your movement is similar to the knife. You can also try shooting on the body while standing in the mid or lone range and as you will be in movement position then it will be hard to get any damage. You must have an awareness of the enemy’s Kayo Ult. It’s better to purchase the ult for other teammates to dominate the other team.

S-tier Agents
Raze
Raze is the flashiest character in Valorant as she is extremely strong on a variety of maps and her utility offers her a ton of damage. Versatility and speed, are the name of the game if you’re picking Raze. Her showstopper allows for multi-skills or simple one-for-one trade. The paint shells of Raze are an amazing stall and area denial utility as they can also land you a pretty free kill.
The boom bot is a piece of tracking utility that will explode on impact and help you decide where to use utility and satchels to tie everything together. You will need a double satchel and pull out your showstopper just before you throw your second Satchel this will cancel the showstopper pullout animation replacing it with a blast pack animation, from here shoot your ultimate and this is going to effectively give you a third boost in the form of push back.
Omen
You need to be a duelist as well as a controller if you want any shot at winning. Picking the Omen as the agent will let you teleport to fake go through the teleport to bind which will make it sound cute and possibly make the enemy team rotate. For Omen Ultimate, you can grab the spike with it if your teammate drops it on the opposite side of the site and possibly outplay your enemy. You can also use it to kill the Killjoy ultimate by alerting away and then canceling it last second to catch the enemies off guard who thinks the site is clear.
Jett
As Jett, your job is to create space for your team. The best movement abilities are Tailwind and Signature ability in the Valorant of the Jett. Start opting and learning how to abuse the operator in your games because it’s one of Jett’s strongest weapons that she can use. Jett has high passive ability. Jett smokes is also one of the strongest abilities in the game along with the Jett’s Ult.
Skye
One of the abilities of Skye is to heal their teammates, this is the kind of ability that another initiator doesn’t contain. Skye’s flash is the best part of her entire kit not only can you use it for information similar to Sova dart to find out if enemies are lurking but you can also use it in a ton of different creative ways to fully blind your enemies and get some of the easiest frags to your career.
Sky’s heel is another ability and it can heal your entire team at once, it heals a total of hp per second and can fully heal them making it much better than Sage Hill at the moment. Skye dog can get you a ton of information, use it to clear close angles that enemies might be playing and if you bite them you can deal up to 30 damage and players will be fully stunned for up to 4 seconds.
A-tier
Sova
Sova’s dart when used is extremely powerful leading to free kills or the very least valuable information. When it comes to attacking a Sova always knowing when and where to utilize your arrows and drones is crucial for successful side execution and gathering valuable intel. Sova’s Lineups can be a great tool as you’ll know exactly where enemies will land and what they will scan.
Utilizing the drone is crucial while playing Sova for safely clearing close-quarter angles and avoiding unnecessary causalities. Sova’s drone has the ability to gain extra hype by exploiting ledges and objects on the map.
Cypher
Cypher kit has the potential to be the most creative in the game and Cyphers tend to be most flexible. Cypher can stall, play for information, make a play, and do all sorts of valuable things. Cypher being a high-skill ceiling agent how to do anything that their team needs and handle whatever the enemy throws at them. Cypher’s best ability is his Spycam.
This signature if placed properly can gather a ton of information about specific parts of the map, help you anchor down sites, or even act as a flash. Cypher’s Trapwires hold flanks on attack and choke points on defense but just like his camera, he has Trapwires spots if the enemy runs into it, there will be free kills.
Killjoy
Killjoy’s turret is one the best passive abilities in the game because not only does it shoot at enemies, damage, and slow them but also utilized to gather a ton of information and lock down multiple sections of the map. Killjoy’s alarm bot is invisible until you are in very close range. It will hunt down an enemy that triggers it and explodes.
Nanoswarm of Killjoy is also invisible until you’re within close range of them and it is mostly used in front of choke points to stop a push but also used in certain areas you know enemies will path towards.
Viper
Viper’s poison cloud is thrown in an arc and then bounces off objects until it can safely land on the ground. When it lands it will be activated and then emits a small smoke sphere that deals decay damage for players who run over it.
The toxic screen is Viper’s signature ability and when activated the toxic screen also deals decay damage and consumes her fuel. If you want to stop a push then use viper snake bites as it will stop enemies in their tracks.
Reyna
Reyna highlights your mechanics and will allow you to single-handedly impact the outcome of a match based on your ability to frag. Reyna’s toolkits are made of self-sufficiency allowing her to thrive in high-pressure situations and turn the tide of any fight in her favor.
Her signature ability to dismiss enables her to outmaneuver opponents and avoid being traded. Her Leer ability allows her to blind enemies and gives her a distinct advantage in one-on-one engagements by temporarily blinding their vision.
Chamber
Chamber’s strongest ability is his Rendezvous and being droned, stunned, and flashed just use your Rendezvous and get out. The Chamber kit isn’t meant to slow down a push but it is to get him, get out, and play retake. Chamber ultimate is the sniper and you can shoot as nearly as fast as the marshall and you can scope as fast as the marshall and also you have the double scope.
B-tier Agents
Gekko
The signature ability of Gekko is the dizzy as you fire to send Disney fort into the air then it’ll charge up and send out beams at enemies in their line of sight and when the enemies are hit, they are blinded. Gekko’s mosh pit ability is his C ability as you throw the mosh pit on the ground and deal damage. His other ability is wingman, you can use it to clear spaces, and if it sees an enemy it will jump towards them and stun them.
Fade
The first ability of fade is prowler and it acts like a boom bot for Raze it travels across the ground if it spots an enemy it latches onto it, chases towards it, and nearsights any enemies that it catches. The fade’s other abilities are Signature hunts, Seize, and Ult.
Deadlock
Deadlock’s first ability is called barrier mesh, it’s her signature ability that you will get for free. You throw out a disc and when it lands it generates barriers from its origin points which will block character movement. Deadlock C ability is Gravnet, when you throw a grenade and when it lands it detonates and sends out the giant field.
Astra
Gravity well is her ability and pressing C on one of your stars transforms them into a small circle which enemies are pulled to the center of. Her second ability also with that same 45-second cooldown is her stunt officially named Nova Pulse. She used to smoke just like the rest of her utility. She needs to have a star down and by pressing this becomes a smoke and her smokes are hollow like Omens.
Phoenix
Phoenix’s wall is good for two things, it’s better for when you’re down low on HP just heal up and it’s good for getting your team from point A to point B. Phoenix’s signature ability is her hot hands and it’s good for healing just like the wall and good for denying space. Phoenix’s ability to throw a curveball will blind the enemies who see it.
Breach
Breach is the kind of agent that will be improvised by moving into the higher ranks in the game. Despite being a strong agent better communication is required. Fault line the breach signature ability and is equipped by using his E key. The other ability is the flashpoint and using it, it sends a flash that goes through walls up to 10 meters thick and enemies are blind for 2 seconds.
Sage
Sage can heal herself without any hurdles or equipping anything. Using the slow orbs and barrier orbs will be game-changing on certain sections of the map. Sage has the signature healing orb and will bring back the HP to 100.
Brimstone
Brimstone is the best agent to have in the game and Orbital Strike can simply block a specific area of the map and take control. He can smoke and take control of the map easily while playing Brimstone with the right strategies.
C-tier Agents
Harbor
Using a sort of ancient artifact, Harbor can bend water to his will to help his team. Harbor unlike most controllers in Valorant meaning requires a specific understanding and play style so you can extract maximum value. The Harbor kit is geared towards covering angles for the team. High tide is his E ability, is a far-reaching wall of water.
Kay/O
Kay/o comes equipped with scanning utility, flashes, and suppression to force fights on his terms. This battle bot is built to stand against the best team comps and is extremely versatile which is easily one of his main strengths. Zero point is Kay/O’s signature ability that resets on a timer of 40 seconds.
Yoru
Yoru is a highly challenging agent to master empowerment not just among duelists but across the board. Gatecrash is his signature ability and is not only the most important tool in his kit but also one of the most challenging to use effectively. Yoru’s flashes are incredibly unique and versatile providing valuable opportunities.
Iso
Iso is somehow compared with Reyna and Iso’s kit brings valuable opportunities for the teammates. Iso’s utility is far from the standards. You can play him as a solo fragger and entry king but Iso shines more when used as a supporting dualist and initiator hybrid. His utility is amazing at helping your team get into heavily guarded areas with ease.
Neon
Fracture and Pearl are the only maps in which Neon can play a significant role. A large number of supplies are required from team members. Neon being a broken agent in Valorant can completely manipulate the pace of the game and catch players off guard.

Format and Methodology
Class Ranking
The standards of each tier are the following.
C-tier
Agents categorized into C-tier are the worst to pick due to their lack of abilities.
B-tier
Agents in the B-tier are compatible because they play a significant role only in specific maps.
A-tier
Agents that are in the A-tier are better but due to some lack in their gameplay, they are incompatible for the S-tier.
S-tier
Agents that are categorized in the S-tier can be easily played on any map and have the high abilities and better gameplay that other agents lack.
Agent Difficulties
In this section, we will discuss Valorant agents from easiest to most difficult to master in the entire game as learning characters for new players can be difficult. Here are some of the examples of the agents.
Reyna (Simple)
There are some things to learn about Reyna like your timing, a lot of positions of your flashes overall just your game understanding. Reyna is your non-agent mechanic whether that’s your gunplay, cross-her placement, or movements. Reyna is a character that allows you to climb to much higher ranks without learning about the game.
Gekko (Standard)
Gekko requires a lot from you not only is his ability Suite diverse but you have to understand how the enemies are rotating so you have to think about macro strategy as a whole because you want to go and get your abilities back. There will be different moments where you can think about where you can find quick advantages and how you could use your abilities to give you a leg up and require you to store a lot of knowledge.
Yoru (Complicated)
The most difficult agent to master in the entire game is Yoru. Yoru has a negative win rate in every rank but radiant, this is because a lot of players just simply don’t play this character well enough to get the value relative to other agents. Once you master the timing the ability for you to fake out enemies the ability for you to properly use your movement, flashes, and your fakes all in perfect Harmony then you can have high impact.
