Objective A: Garden

When first approaching this objective, you can come from two different routes, either over the bridge or through the building. It is best to start the bridge and meet the enemy team head-on as they cross the bridge as over the bridge is faster. Focus on eliminating them before the point unlocks and you can then easily take the objective. The objective itself has windows facing either spawn point, so more mobile heroes can jump in on the objective from these. Remember that they can easily take you by surprise by doing this when you’re defending.

Objective B: Control Center

You can come from three avenues of approach, an upraised platform, and a long hallway, or you can move to a longer winding way to appear at a small balcony overlooking the objective in the very middle when first approaching the objective. This can be very helpful in taking the objective because if you control this balcony, you can keep anyone off of the objective itself. Always check this balcony for a sniper when taking the objective, and try to get your sniper up into that position to watch your back.

Objective C: Night Market

Attacking and defending essentially have two ways into the objective itself. The first one is the quickest way to the objective, which is through a large open courtyard with many overlooking ledges that snipers can take advantage of. The other is turning the other way to move to the objective and you can enter through your side directly into the objective, or if you go around a little further you can move into another door at the back of the objective and catch them off guard.

Lijiang Tower Tips and Strategies

Here are some of the tips and tricks that every player must know when playing on the Lijiang Tower map.

Push and Pull Foes into Pitfalls

Lijiang Tower’s Night Market and Garden feature large pitfalls around their control points, acting as environmental hazards that teams should be wary of. for easy eliminations, send careless foes into these pitfalls with pushing and pulling abilities like Roadhog’s Chain Hook and Lucio’s Soundwave.

Utilize Night Market’s Control Point Windows

Remember, take advantage of its windows to ambush the defending team from unexpected angles only when attacking Night Market’s control point. To flank the enemy team from the upper windows, most Heroes with mobility skills can slip in and out of the control point’s side windows, those with high vertical mobility and teleports, like Pharah and Symmetra.

Take Advantage of Control Center’s Vantage Point

Remember, take advantage of the unique vantage point overlooking the control point when fighting inside the Control Center. Heroes like Widowmaker and Ashe can use it to improve their sightlines and Heroes like Genji and Reaper can use it as an extra flanking route.

Team Explanation

This powerful team composition works well on all three locations in Lijiang Tower, as they can take advantage of the map’s flanking routes, choke points, and distinct terrain.

Alternative Damage

Genji and Sombra: Genji and Sombra are excellent alternative flankers on Lijiang Tower due to their high mobility and evasiveness. While Sombra takes on a more disruptive role with Hack and EMP, Genji is more versatile and can quickly take out groups of enemies with Dragonblade and Swift Strike.

Junkrat: Junkrat with his Frag Launcher can apply constant pressure toward Lijiang Tower’s cramped control points and choke points and can easily wipe out enemies. He can also reach the map’s vantage points and deal heavy burst damage with Concussion Mine while covering flanks and disrupting team fights with Steel Trap.

Pharah: When fighting on Lijiang Tower’s Night Market, and Garden, Pharah is the best alternative pick if the enemy team lacks crowd control and Hitscan. These parts of the map have a high skybox, letting Pharah bombard her foes from multiple angles with Rocket Launcher and Barrage. To let her shove groups of enemies into the pitfalls around these section’s control points, Concussive Blast will make a big impact here.

Alternative Supports

Ana: Ana provides potent damage output with her versatile Biotic Rifle and single-target burst healing. With the former providing a healing boost and anti-heal debuff and the latter disabling crucial targets instantly, her Biotic Grenade and Sleep Dart are also excellent utility tools on the map. In addition, Nano Boost enhances the survivability and damage output of her team’s DPS Heroes.

Brigitte: Brigitte provides excellent frontline support with Inspire and Rocket Flail while covering her team from flankers with Whip Shot and Barrier Shield. To let Brigitte move around faster while providing temporary health to her allies, her Rally is also an excellent tool for attacking and defending the map’s control points.

Mercy: Mercy works well with Lijiang Tower’s ample verticality and natural cover, letting her become a solid alternative Support with Caduceus Staff and Guardian Angel. She is incredibly potent when paired with Heroes she can focus her healing and damage boosts toward, such as Pharah and Sojourn. To turn around team fights on the control point, her Resurrect also has much more potential.
