League of Legends: T1 has been crowned LoL World Champions

League of Legends World Championship has finally come to an end with T1 getting crowned as LoL World Champions. This is T1 and Faker’s fifth Summoner’s Cup.

After a month-long competition filled with skill and the strongest teams in League of Legends esports, the year’s championship ended with T1 taking the crown. The South Korean team loved by everyone in the scene was facing Bilibili Gaming in a 3-2 thrilled Grand Finals. Finally, T1 scored the last map and took home the Summoner’s Cup.

T1 and Faker winning the Fifth Summoner’s Cup

This is now T1 and Faker’s fifth Summoner’s Cup, they are now no doubt the best team in LoL esports. Ranking them as no. 1 in LoL esports. However, T1 had a rocky start in this year’s split. They barely qualified for the LoL Worlds Championship in Korea. But once they got to Worlds and secured their Knockout stage spot, they scored a 3-1 in the knockout stage.

T1 and BLG performance throughout the Year

During Quaterfinals, T1 swept 3-0 cleaning the opponents. Then they finally faced the rivals Gen.G in the semifinals. T1 shatter 3-1 against Gen.G in the semifinals. However, T1 had a rough time against whole year against Gen.G as they couldn’t win any game.

T1’s comeback against Gen.G in the international World Semifinals was phenomenal.  Meanwhile, BLG were the kings of the LPL all year and came into Worlds as the region’s first seed. But BLG struggled with the meta early into the Swiss Stage, even facing potential elimination after the first week with a 1-2 standing. However, BLG bounced back in the second week, sweeping through PSG Talon and G2 Esports to secure their knockout stage slot.

In the quarterfinals, BLG looked extremely dominant, crushing LCK top seed Hanwha Life Esports, 3-1, to reach the semifinals. In the semifinals, BLG faced their demons and trounced Weibo Gaming, 3-0, to make it to their first-ever World Grand finals.

First Game

In the First Game, BLG had overall control in the early game, they were playing the lanes very smart. Their strategy was to choke the T1’s Bottom lane. Knight and Elk were amazing shutting down and coming back against T1. They had a kill streak for 17-4 leading BLG. BLG crushed T1 in the first game.

Second Game

In the second game, BLG was once again aggressive against T1 scoring the first blood on Gumayusi. T1 however, made a comeback as BLG tried to push T1 into the top lane. T1’s Ornn and Nocturne was duoing and did a great job holding BLG from pushing all across the map. T1 did a great comeback with 18-3 crushing BLG’s base scoring them a win in the second game.

Third Game

Both teams went for early game lane swaps in the third game, with BLG finding an early game lead after a few kills from punishing T1’s mistakes. BLG found picks in the side lanes, outplaying the South Korean juggernauts. The Chinese team continued to snowball, and after a 27-minute encounter and a one-sided 17-3 kill lead, BLG took down T1’s base to win the third game and take their team to match point.

Fourth Game


In the fourth game, BLG was once again playing very aggressively scoring early kills in the game. T1 was, however, playing map objective and they played bottom lane gaining the gold advantage. Faker helped T1 and his team advance and they finally got the kill lead.

Final Game

In the decider, both teams were on equal footing as each went for cross-map plays as much as they could, with T1 having a very slight advantage. T1 continued to find advantages, with crucial plays from Faker on Galio. And after a 32-minute encounter and a 12-6 kill lead, T1 take down BLG’s nexus to win the fifth game and the series.

With their final win, T1 became the World’s 2024 Champions and went home with 445,000 USD prize money. Meanwhile, BLG took home 356,000 USD as runner ups.
