1) Burnice
Burnice is an incredibly destructive Fire Anomaly Agent who focuses on off-field burning damage to scorch her enemies. Thanks to her unique Nitro-Fuel State & Quick Assist Burst mechanic, she excels at breaking the ceiling for Anomaly based agents looking to increase their damage output even further. Burnice is all about off-field fire damage and on-field fire damage in the game. She is the first featured fire anomaly Focus DPS character. When you fill up an enemy’s fire anomaly circle, the enemy will be inflicted by burning, which deals burning damage every 0.5 seconds for 10 seconds. If you trigger another anomaly while the enemy is burned, burning will be removed. Then it will trigger dealing a hefty amount of damage.

Lucy is best known for the attack buff she gains from her ex special attack and the boars that spawn when she casts it. And to be honest, that’s really all there is to her kit. Depending on mindscapes, she does gain additional value like anomaly on her ex special or crit damage when she provides her team the cheer on buff. But in most cases, Lucy simply presses her ex special, quick assists to another ally, and that’s her insanely complex gameplan.
Even as a damage dealer who spends more time on the field, Lucy casts her ex special attack for the attack increase and boars, but then simply uses her basic attack until the enemy is gone. Lucy’s core passive explains her boars and the way they function. It reads that they ONLY inherit her attack and impact stats, which makes Lucy focusing on these stats crucial to their effectiveness. Additionally, the Cheer boosts her boars’ attack frequency and increases the effectiveness of the buff too. But to simplify, this is where all of her boars’ stats originate from.
On a side note, Lucy begins any encounter with a single boar by her side, but after being hit or attacking the enemy in any way, shape, or form, Lucy immediately summons two additional boars to her side. Lucy’s additional ability boosts her boars by allowing them to inherit her crit rate and crit damage when paired with a Sons of Calydon member or a fire attribute agent. While this sounds strong, the boars’ uncontrollable and random behavior can sometimes make their contributions helpful but not always reliable. Lucy’s EX Special Attack costs 60 energy to perform, and it has two different forms that change based on whether you hold down its input.
If you press her ex special briefly, she performs a line drive which will launch a boar directly at the enemy dealing fire damage. But if she holds down this button instead, she launches the boar into the air. Lucy’s EX Special has some of her highest damage multipliers, but this is not her best damage dealing move. However, performing either of these versions will cause the boar to explode upon hitting either a wall or an enemy, allow you to perform a quick assist to another ally, and also cause the cheer on buff to appear.

She offers fast assists, chain attacks, and an accessible ex special, all of which contribute to one of the smoothest gameplay experiences you’ll ever see.
Her playstyle is comparable to Seth and Lucy but her unique strength lies in providing protection and temporary immunity to enemy interruptions. Though, she is not always better than other supports. She excels in boosting damage through debuffs and attack Buffs, which make her insanely strong and almost Irreplaceable for a hyper carry team.
Let’s begin this kit breakdown talking about Caesar’s unique Resource. Caesar does not have a resource bar or resource Stacks, the same way that other agents do. Instead she has a barrier with a long set duration and durability that decreases whenever it gets hit. This barrier is her core passive and is applied whenever she uses an ex special chain attack or ultimate. The barrier is transferable to other agents when she swaps off the field, and the size of it is dependent on her impact. The shield has an attack buff tied to it whenever it is present on an agent. The amount of attack gained is dependent on her core skill, with a maximum of a 1000 attack being received.
One of the biggest strengths of the barrier is its anti-interrupt, which prevents characters from being flinched or interrupted easily. Another fantastic feature of this barrier is that it can’t be broken in one hit regardless of how much damage is dealt. When it is gone, however, the attack buff disappears after 5 seconds, but Caesar can transfer it to an ally before it fades. On a final note, while the anti-interrupt damage mitigation and attack buff are powerful. They can work against each other. The more Caesar reduces damage and prevents knockbacks. The more likely the shield will break, causing her to lose the attack increase.
It’s not that big of a deal since it’s easy to reply to her Shield via ex special but I did feel it was worth mentioning. Caesar’s additional ability is also one of the easiest to activate assuming you avoid pairing her with range agents. However, this isn’t even the best part about it. With active Caesar strengthens her team utility by applying a debuff to all nearby enemies that increases the damage they take by 25% for 30 seconds. This is an extremely long time and makes it a permanently active debuff. Keep in mind that this is usually best applied against multiple enemies using her charged basic. This is also against individual enemies by applying her defensive assist or using a perfect block against a single enemy.
7) Soukaku
Soukaku is one of the best characters that Zenless Zone Zero has to offer. Soukaku is a great utility and support to the team. The attack that she provides is universally good and if you are using an ice-based team, the rest of her kit becomes even better. But before we get too specific on teams, let’s talk about her base stats. Comparing Soukaku’s stats to Lucy makes the most sense since they are both supports and scale with attack. On that note, she does have a higher attack base. The rest of their stats are pretty comparable with minor differences in anomaly mastery and anomaly proficiency. These are both characters who would ideally build crit later, so this is not that important.
Let’s talk about Soukaku’s core passive. It reads: “When Soukaku launches Fly the Flag, her ATK is increased by 20% up to 500, for 22s. When consuming Vortex during Fly the Flag, the ATK increase is doubled, up to a max 1000”. This buff given can be passed along to characters switching in via Quick Assist or Chain Attacks triggered by Fly the Flag, and it refreshes the duration of the buff.” This is the main reason that Soukaku is used as a support. The attack buff by itself is not very complicated, however, there are a few important things you need to know before we dive into this amazing skill.
The first thing we need to explain is Soukau’s special resource. Similar to characters like Ellen or Zhu Yuan, Soukaku also has a unique resource known as vortex stacks. These stacks are used to fly the flag. If you do not consume these vortex stacks before using the fly the flag, her attack buff is half as effective. So, on that note, let’s talk briefly about obtaining vortex stacks. Currently, there are 3 ways to get them. You receive 1 when using Soukaku’s ex special attack, 1 when using her chain attack, and 3 when using her ultimate. The most realistic and comfortable way for you to get these through is through special attacks and chain attacks.
Keep in mind, however, that you will only consume vortex stacks when you have 3 total and perform fly the flag after. Now before we leave the topic of vortex stacks, let’s talk about her additional ability since it also impacts the way that they work. Soukaku’s additional ability increases the ice damage of the squad by 20% for 22 seconds, assuming you have a character who shares the same attribute or faction as her and consumes vortex while they are on the team. To buff Ellen and potentially Lycaon, but keep in mind that we don’t currently have any characters who share a faction with Soukaku at the moment. It will be hard to satisfy this requirement unless you are directly pairing her with Ellen, Zhu Yuan, or Lycaon.
8) Qingyi
Qingyi’s basic attack combo is made up of four total hits. The first two are unimportant but you need to perform them before you can use the important third hit. The first is a vertical spin into a downward strike. The second is a horizontal spin into forward strike. This leads us to the third hit where we can begin the fun during her third hit. You can continually hold down the basic attack button to perform this infinite spinning lightning storm of Doom. This interestingly doesn’t get interrupted if you dodge. If you let go of the basic attack button after being in the spinning combo, you automatically perform the fourth and final hit which is another downward smash. Keep in mind that if you perform the spinning combo for long enough, it enhances the fourth hit to be this upward strike plus downward smash.
Your anti-interrupt level is also increased during the third and fourth hits, and you do gain a 40% damage increase while they’re being casted. The next part of your basic attack we need to talk about though is her held down attack combo. Normally, if you hold down the basic attack input you perform a very weak Rush attack that deals electric damage. However, to get to the enhanced version we need to talk about Qingyi’s unique resource. The second feature of her basic attacks involves her unique resource bar. When Qingyi deals electric damage with the skill, this bar fills up.
It can hold a maximum of 100 charges. When you hold down the basic attack input after having at least 75 charges, you perform an enhanced version of the weak Rush attack. This is called Enchanted Moonlight blossoms and is extremely powerful both in terms of days and in terms of damage. This new combo is made up of five Rush attacks and a final hit. What you need to know about this is the following one, you can end the combo at any time if you release the basic attack input, and two, your anti-interrupt level is increased during the rush attack.

Lighter is one of the most flashy agents in Zenless Zone Zero. He is a stunner that relies heavily on his morale gauge and team energy. But he’s also an amazing ice + fire buffer that takes things to the next level. Lighter’s goal is to buff the team as soon as possible while also dazing enemies too. Fortunately for Lighter, he does these two things at the same time simply through his Core Passive and Additional Ability. This is both a blessing and a curse, however, since his buffs and stun are tied to a resource gauge that requires allies to use their energy. But with more and more testing, many of these features in his kit make him feel much different than your average dazer.
Lighter’s unique resource is Morale. He generates it at a rate of 2.9 per second with a cap of 100 while your team is in combat. He also gains bonus Morale whenever a squadmate uses Energy, when Lighter reaches the 80 Morale threshold, this is where the magic begins. The next time he swaps in after 80 morale is reached, he performs a Quick Assist. And additionally, using the 5th hit of his Basic Attack combo sends Lighter into the Morale Burst state. Storing and gaining Morale to then swapping over to the Lighter is his overall gameplay loop.
This enhances both Lighter’s stun potential and also buffs the rest of the team too. Activating and staying in the Morale Burst state has several benefits. It increases the damage and daze of his abilities while striking. It increases his impact up to a maximum of 20% for 6 seconds. Performing startup light punches or jab combos will decrease the target’s ice and fire resistance by 15% for 30 seconds. When Ligher’s Finishing Move hits an enemy, it applies the Collapse effect on the target which extends its Stunned duration by 3s.

Jane Doe also works as a solo anomaly hyper carry or can be an amazing part of a disorder team. Her versatility and potential are endless. Before I go further, she applies anomaly at an insane speed and also has a lot of mobility in her kit. The core of her gameplay revolves around applying anomaly quickly, and funnily enough, that’s pretty much all she has to her. Although there are optimizations here and there, the second that she applies physical anomaly, most enemies simply disappear. When fighting harder bosses, she helps allies daze even faster with her assault anomaly. This is fantastic since these buffs both her damage and her team’s ability to stun.
Now, onto her basic attack. Let’s begin again with her passion state. This is what gives Jane her unique resource, the buff to her anomaly application and her attack. Also, what gives her one charge of Salchow Jump. In terms of the buff she receives, Jane is granted a 25% increased build up rate for physical anomaly. She also gains 2 attacks for every point of anomaly she has after 120, with a cap of 600. Jane needs 420 anomaly proficiency to max this value out. To enter the passion state, Jane must max her resource bar, and there are a few ways to do this. 4.
Jane can deal damage, perform a perfect dodge or an assist, and these are guaranteed ways to increase the bar at a decent rate. However, if you use her ultimate or her chain attack, she immediately fills the bar instead. Maintaining this state is important since you only keep the buffs when you are in it. Keep in mind that there is not a timer for how long you can stay in the passion state. The only way for this bar to decrease is when she deals damage with her skills. Performing any damaging skills will increase her resource bar when she isn’t in the passion state. Using perfect dodges, defensive assists, chain attacks, her ultimate, or her charged attack (salchow jump) will regenerate her resource bar while she is in it.
