Fortnite does not use a traditional Elo system; it uses a rank progression to tell the player how much more he has to play to get the next rank. Unlike most other games where you can see if you are earning Elo or losing it. Fortnite does not have that kind of system. Instead, it has a hidden MMR that puts you against the player with a similar skill level but does not tell you if you will earn ELO or lose it and by how much. After getting calibrated, Fortnite puts you in a lobby with players similar to your skills. But unlike Player Unknown Battlegrounds, where it rewards for being in the surviving top 10 players. Fortnite awards you for killing more enemies. So even if you play aggressively, you can still get a pretty good jump in the rank progression bar. Since each kill awards you with some points.
