Overwatch 2 Season 12<\/a> is coming close to an end next week on October 15, 2024, and with a little time left, the Devs have introduced a new time-limited event called Competitive Drives. With this event, players can make the final push to boost their Competitive ranks<\/a> for the season. Moreover, the Competitive Drives event offers various rewards including a new type of item called \u201cSignature\u201d. The Signatures are cosmetic rewards that appear alongside your name in the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Season 12 is the first season of Overwatch 2 to get an introductory time-limited Competitive Drives event, and it will appear at the end of the next two future Seasons, allowing players to earn rewards while pushing their ranks for the season. Here is everything you need to know about the Competitive Drives event going on in Overwatch 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overwatch 2: Season 12 \u2013 Competitive Drives Event Time (Start & End)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The first-ever Competitive Drives event starts on October 4 at 8:00 AM PT<\/strong> and ends on October 7 at 8:00 AM PT<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How the Competitive Drives event works in Overwatch 2<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Competitive Drives event is mainly added to grant players more Competitive Points to push their rank and earn rewards by reaching every tier checkpoint. Moreover, there is an extra incentive to Competitive Matches with a Drive Meter which can be seen in the Competitive Play menu. Every match that players win, will add Drive Score to the meter to fill it, and losing a match will lower the Drive Meter by a small amount.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, if you reach the next tier by filling up the Drive Meter, the rewards are guaranteed and you cannot de-rank to the lower tier even though you lose all of your matches. In addition, we have explained the Drive Points, Checkpoints, and Signatures mechanics below for better understanding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earn Drive Points through the course of the Competitive Drives event<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

During the Competitive Drives event, each match you win will grant you Drive Points which are ten times the total Skill Rank percentage gained from a match. On the other hand, losing a match will reduce your Drive Points by five times the total Skill Rank percentage of a match.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To understand it better, let’s assume you win a match with a Skill Rank percentage of 21% towards the next tier and division, you will earn 210 Drive Points. Similarly, if you lose a match with a 19% Skill Rank percentage deduction, you will lose 95 Drive Points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earn Guaranteed Rewards at Every Tier Checkpoint<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Upon earning enough Drive Score to fill up the Drive Meter, will promote you to the higher tier which marks a checkpoint. Now, passing every checkpoint will reward you with various items like more Competitive Points or Signatures. As mentioned above, you cannot de-rank to the lower tiers once you pass the checkpoint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
