Apex Legends’ upcoming Season 22 will make significant changes to the free-to-play shooter’s Battle Pass “experience”, developer Respawn Entertainment has announced, by releasing two Battle Passes per season instead of one, and then charging full price for each.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of Season 22, Apex Legends is ditching its current season-long Battle Pass in favour of two half-season Battle Passes – one launching at the start of a season and another at its mid-point “split” – each featuring 60 levels of rewards, compared to the previous version’s 110.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the truncated number of progression levels, each new half-season premium Battle Pass costs approximately the same as the older season-long version. Previously, a premium Battle Pass cost 950 Apex Coins (a 1000-coin bundle is priced at $9.99 USD), and Respawn’s new half-season Battle Passes are $9.99 each. A new Premium+ tier (replacing the existing Premium Bundle) is $19.99 every half-season, and a free tier remains available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BATTLE PASS OVERHAUL<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019ll get into it for those that love the details, but here\u2019s the gist: shorter Battle Pass with one for each split, revamped rewards, and purchased with IRL currency<\/strong> with a new cost for Premium+. We\u2019ve seen the numbers, and things need to be more approachable and realistic for our global player community. Each of these updated aspects allows us to make the Battle Pass more attainable and valuable for your time and money. The reward should always be worth the time you choose to spend in the Outlands, and now it is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instead of just talking about it, we want players to experience the new Battle Pass format for themselves. All players will be able to earn the first split\u2019s Premium Battle Pass at season launch by logging in and completing a set of challenges within the first two weeks. This first one is on us.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

SPLITS & LEVELS<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Starting in Season 22, each split will now have its own 60 Level Battle Pass with the same cost for each. With the Battle Pass shortened, more of our community will be able to tackle the track and obtain the Reactive skin at the end. You\u2019ll now earn double the Battle Pass rewards across the entire season by completing both Battle Passes (more on that below), and you can continue your progress past Level 60 up to Level 100 to upgrade your Battle Pass badges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The impact of this change is twofold. It allows us to align seasonal progression more closely with Ranked while also increasing the value for your time.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

TRACKS & REWARDS<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019re maintaining both Battle Pass tracks: Free and Premium. Your time will always be rewarded regardless of which track you\u2019re on. The overall seasonal value has increased which means your rewards for each split will also increase across the board on all tracks. Yes, that includes the Free Track too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
