Valorant Patch Notes 9.05: Astra and Chamber Buffs, Breeze comes to Consoles and more

Valorant’s new Episode 9 Act 2 brought the Patch 9.04 and a ton of content in the game. Vyse is the highlight of the patch. Riot also announced a price hike this week for VP points. Well with just in the new Act, Valorant is bringing more changes to agents starting with Patch 9.05.

Valorant Breeze

Valorant Patch 9.05 brings major buffs for Chamber and Astra to help shift meta to controllers and sentinels. New Act 2 is very Sentinel-heavy, balancing the game to let players fully utilize Sentinels to the fullest. Also, Ares’s weapon is receiving a buff. There is an update on both PC and Consoles.

Breeze will be coming for the first time on Consoles with Patch 9.05. Here’s everything you need to know about Valorant Patch 9.05 patch notes and everything coming.

Chamber Buff: more TP radius

Chamber’s Rendezvous ability, where he can place a TP is getting an increase in radius. TP radius is increasing from 13m to 18m. Rendezvous allows the Chamber to have mobility and get info by pushing attackers. There was limited space before where he could place his TP. With more radius, there can be more plays and more aggressive angles. You can peak more aggressively than ever and get info on enemies by placing TP far away.

Astra Buff: Stars increased to 5

Astra Star is getting an increase in number from 4 to 5 in patch 9.05. Astra has gone through a lot of rebalancing with the new patch. With Clove and other controllers, Astra has been struggling in competitive queues. To balance her, Riot is giving her an extra star to make efficient use of her Gravity Well and Nova Pulse.

Astra is a viable pick with the new patch helping use her other abilities besides smokes. Before you will have to save your abilities and use smokes due to fewer Stars.

Update to Stim Behavior

Players have been complaining a lot about the Stim behavior in the game. This happens when an agent or team utilizes Stim boosts the weapon accuracy and recoil gets disrupted. This happens more often with Reyna’s Empress Ult and Brim’s Stim beacon.

With Update 9.05 Riot has fixed the buff and there will be a more consistent recoil with an increased rate of fire. This is a very big update to gunplay and will help a lot in competitive matches where abilities matter the most.

Update to Player Behavior and Voice Chat

Valorant has also brought big changes to Voice Chat; Riot now asks for access to record your Voice Chat history in the game. Which will be used to penalize you in case of any behavior that is not according to Riot’s guidelines.

For taking more strict measures, Penalized players will not be able to queue in any team-based mode for disruptive behavior. Also, Ranked and Premier queues will be disabled for such players.

Ares becomes a cheaper Odin

Ares is getting a buff with the new Valorant patch 9.05. Revert crouch benefits are getting a nerf from 25% to 40%. This will boost crouch accuracy on Ares. Ares will be now similar to Odin in gunplay and playstyle.

The headshot multiplier on Ares is also getting adjusted from 2.4 to 2.5. Now, Ares will take only two headshots within a 30m range. Previously, it used to deal only 144 damage.

Breeze coming to the consoles

Breeze is coming to both Unrated and Swift play queues on consoles. There are more performance changes on consoles to help with UI and gameplay. In the progression track, you can also see the selected Agents if they are unlocked, their progression. You can track Agent rewards directly from the progression tab on consoles.

A new map cursor speed slider to help you slow or speed up the map in the game when you are to use your abilities like smoke.

Maps and Agents Bug Fixes

New patch 9.05 fixes a couple of bugs on different competitive queue maps. Abyss, Lotus, Icebox, and Sunset all received bug fixes. The range also received a bug fix.

For Agents most fixes were for the newly added sentinel Vyse. As the agent is fairly new, Riot has to fix several bugs for the agent from its Arc Rose, Shear, and her Ult Steal Garden. However, other agents that received fixes are Omen and KAY/O.

This is everything that’s included with patch note 9.05, it’s time you utilize new sentinel and controller buffs on Chamber and Astra.
