Valorant: Patch 9.10 to include Phoenix Buff and New Armor type

Valorant Patch 9.08 has been released alongside Episode 9 Act 3 coming on October 23 and 24 2024, depending upon your region and your Riot Games Account region. Episode 9 Act 3 is going to be the final Act for this year and Episode 9 as well. It will be the second season for the Valorant Esports in this case. 

However, Valorant announced on 22 October 2024, Patch 9.10 will be including major changes to Agent such as Phoenix. They also introduced a brand new armor type to be included in the game with Patch 9.10. The new armor type is to help in saving rounds to help increase the chances of clutch situations.

Game Designer Dan Hardison added that the reason for changes at the end of the year is the perfect time. As there will be no upcoming VCT matches, new changes will be deployed to change the meta. Now, it is time to learn new Agent buffs and new armor types to climb your rank.  

Patch 9.10 will be one of the biggest changes coming to Valorant in the recent months. Here is everything you need to know.

Agent Changes


Phoenix and Gekko are receiving major buffs and nerfs in Valorant Patch 9.10. Here are all the changes coming to the Agents.

Phoenix

Blaze: Phoenix’s flame wall will now be able to go through solid objects. This will help Phoenix players and duelists to push site better and faster. This is a really good change helping your team push behind the flame wall.

Hot Hands: Phoenix molly has been changed and it will be now work as a base skill. You will no longer be able to recharge Hot Hands after two kills. Players will have to use it carefully during specific situations.

Curveball: Curveball has been significantly buffed making it Phoenix’s signature ability. Curveball will be recharged after getting two kills, you will get one charge. This ensures Phoenix can keep pushing as a duelist and get more flashes.

Gekko


Gekko has been nerfed in Patch 9.08. Here are all the changes coming to Valorant with Act 3.

Thrash: Gekko’s ultimate Thrash has been nerfed and it will require one extra point in cost.

Dizzy and Wingman: Dizzy and Wingman have been buffed and previously there were certain angles you cannot claim them back. You will be able to reclaim both Dizzy and Wingman more easily.

More Agent changes will be coming to Sage and Cypher but details have not yet been revealed.

New Armor type Regen Shield

One of the most forward-looking changes with Patch 9.10 is the new armor type in Valorant. This can potentially change the competitive play and how ranked is played. Regen Shield armor type will keep regenerating for a specific time. However, the full details of the new armor type are yet to be revealed.

Regen Shield can be a perfect option for clutch rounds and making a difference. It can be used as a replacement for a half shield. Winning fights will allow one to recover armor health, this can be a game-changing mechanic and armor type.
