Overwatch 2 new Season 12 patch Nerfs Ashe, Winston, Juno, and Sombra

Overwatch 2 got a new patch with season 12 on September 3, 2024, which brings balance changes to competitive queues. The new patch nerfs Winston, Ashe, Sombra, and Juno to change the meta in Season 12.

Juno Overwatch 2

The main changes in the patch include hero changes as well few minor bug fixes. Sombra was buffed just when season 12 started. A lot of players have been complaining about Sombra being ‘annoying’ and ‘unfun’. Blizzard has finally nerfed her Virus ability damage from 90 to 75.

Juno has also received tweaks in the newest patch. She was criticized for being bad because of her fire rate. Juno was buffed in the last patch but has now received a higher fire rate for her weapon. But she has received a nerf on both her healing and damage on her weapon for an increased fire rate.

These changes to heroes will have a major impact on competitive matches as they are targeting one of the best tank, DPS, and support roles altogether. Here are all the Overwatch 2 new patch changes you need to know.

Overwatch 2 September 3 Patch Nerfs

Four heroes going through Nerfs in the newest patch which covers DPS, Tank, and support roles. Here is every hero change coming with the new patch.

Winston

Winston’s Tesla Canon is receiving a Nerf with its damage per second. The Primary fire has been reduced from 75 to 70. This will help significantly lower the damage dealt by his Canon ability. Being a tank and his jump ability he was pretty broken on dealing high damage. This change will bring balance to the tank class.

Ashe

Ashe is one of the best DPS in Overwatch but she is finally getting a Nerf. Her reload time per bullet is increased by 0.05 seconds. This makes her slow to combat enemies when she is on a reload and enemies can have a better chance of knocking Ashe down. Also, she is receiving a Nerf to her primary fire damage to her outlaw from 40 to 35. This will eventually lower her weapon’s burst damage as well.

Sombra

Sombra is one of the heroes that Overwatch 2 players have been complaining about for a long time in the recent Season 12 patch as well. Sombra’s Virus ability has been very deadly and makes players mad.

Sombra Overwatch 2

She is finally getting a Nerf to her Virus ability; her virus deals overtime damage. The total damage dealt by the Sombra Virus is now reduced from 90 to 75. This will help players have a chance to take head-on fights with her.

Juno

Juno has received so many changes and buffs to her since her launch with Season 12. Her Mediblaster has gone through multiple adjustments. In the newest patch, Juno has received an increase in her SMG’s fire rate from 14.3 to 15.5. But her SMG has received Nerf in damage per shot from 8 to 7.5. Also, her healing is reduced from 7 to 6.5. According to Overwatch 2 devs, this will balance out Juno and also fix the players’ concerns about her slow SMG.

The patch also included some bug fixes on both PC and Consoles. Here are all the major bug fixes in the September 3rd patch.
