The new season 12 is the Overwatch 2’s new update bringing in the new agent Juno. Juno is the first new character coming after Venture in Season 10. Overwatch 2 Season 12 release date
Overwatch 2 Season 12 is set to release on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at 11 AM PT/7 PM BST. The teaser was announced on August 14, it revealed all the updates we can expect in the new season 12. It shows a snippet of the new Hero Juno and some new events coming to Overwatch 2. We also got our first look at the new Battle Pass and new Hero Master Courses.
Juno arriving in Season 12
Juno is the newest support Hero added to the game. It has been 6 seasons since we got a new support Hero after Illari in season 6. Blizzard has revealed some of Juno’s lore and she’s the first character joining the game who comes from Mars. You can also see her ship entering the Earth’s atmosphere if you look at the sky on Earth maps in season 11. Her ship landed in Dorado.
Juno Hero Abilities
Here are the abilities for new support Hero Juno in Overwatch 2.
Mediblaster: Mediblaster is Juno’s primary weapon. It is a Burst first SMG that heals teammates and deals damage to enemies.
Martian Overboots: This is Juno’s Passive and while in the air you can press Jump to double jump and hold Jump to hover.
Pulsar Torpedoes: These are homing projectiles; they can heal allies and deal damage to enemies.
Glide Boost: Juno can glide horizontally with increased movement speed.
Hyper Ring: Ring that increases the movement speed of allies when they pass through it.
Orbital Ray: Orbital Ray is Juno’s Ultimate ability. It’s a ray that travels forward heals allies and increases their damage.
Overwatch 2 Season 12 Battle Pass
New Frontiers is the theme of Season 12 Battle Pass. It has an Egyptian cosmetic style. It costs 1,000 OW coins and the Premium version for 2,200 OW coins. Reaper is getting a new Mythic Skin inspired by ‘Anubis Reaper’. The skin includes multiple color schemes. We’re also getting a Mythic Ana weapon skin. Get ready to level up and rank up with the new season 12 Battle Pass.
New game mode Clash
Clash was a mode we saw first time in Overwatch 2 in Season 10. Clash will now be permanently added to the game. The new mode has five capture points and both teams need to capture points from the enemy team. The first team to capture all points or with the most points wins the match. It comes with two new maps.

Overwatch 2 World of Warcraft Event
World of Warcraft is getting a new event in Season 12 of Overwatch 2. It was teased in the official trailer of New Frontiers. However, It can also be new cosmetics coming to the game.
Overwatch 2 anniversary event
Overwatch 2 is having a second anniversary this year. Blizzard is bringing back April Fool’s mode and Mirrorwatch mode back into the game for the event. We will also be getting new cosmetics with the anniversary event; they can be earned by completing challenges during the event. The anniversary event is expected sometime in early October 2024.
Zarya and Pharah Hero Mastery courses
Zarya and Pharah are the newest Heroes to get their own Hero Mastery course in Season 12. Mastery courses are very fun to practice and unlock star ratings with your favorite Heroes. It can be fun to learn Pharah’s missile lineups and the technical skills of Zarya’s bubbles.
