Valve nerfs Ivy in the latest patch of Deadlock, leaving many players in a rage

Deadlock is a popular tactical hero shooter MOBA video game developed by Valve. It is in the Early Access stage currently, but Valve is continuously providing updates for the game to make it more appealing and balanced for everyone. Similar to other MOBA games, Deadlock is considered highly competitive, making the developers add the custom lobby option to the play mode so that players can host their own tournaments or enjoy casual/competitive games with friends.

After the major update on September 26, Valve released another update on October 2, bringing balance changes to various heroes including a majority fan-favorite, Ivy. In this article, we will be going over the recent patch notes of Deadlock.

Deadlock Recent Update – Ivy & other heroes changes

The recent update of Deadlock brought major balance changes to Ivy including a reduction in Kudzu Bomb’s damage spirit scaling and vertical radius. Using the Kudzu Bomb will still spread the thorns to deal damage to enemies who get stuck in them, but it won’t be as effective as the previous patch. Moreover, Ivy’s Air Drop explosion ability now respects line of sight.

With all these changes, players showed an unpleasant response to the Devs for nerfing their favorite hero. However, the Devs’ response shows that they are looking toward the positive side of these changes. “Think of it as a buff, more chance for you to pick the hero.”

In addition to changes for Ivy, Mirage also received various balances along with various gameplay changes and fixes.
