Speaking of Dungeons, Bungie also introduced its first-ever Dungeon Race with the latest dungeon in Episode: Revenant called Vesper’s Host. The new dungeon was officially released on October 11, 2024, three days after the release of the new episode. Vesper’s Host dungeon is more intense than any other dungeon due to the world’s first race competition in a dungeon. The first three teams to complete the dungeon will receive exclusive rewards.

Vesper’s Host Dungeon Race Competition – Start & End Date
Vesper’s Host Dungeon was released yesterday and is now available for all the players to participate the in race competition. However, the race is only available for a limited time and ends on October 13 at 12 AM (EST).
Vesper’s Host Dungeon Race – Starting Requirements
For the players who want to participate in the race, they will first have to complete the following three requirements.
- Party up in a fireteam of three.
- Everyone should have the Final Shape Dungeon Key.
- Make sure you and all of the players in your party have Power Level 1985.
- Accept the Rogue Network quest for the Vesper’s Host dungeon from the Spider in the Last City.
After fulfilling the requirements for the Vesper’s Host dungeon race competition, your fireteam will be ready to take on the challenge. However, the race is organized in a Contest Mode instead of Normal Mode so it is best to learn what it is and how it balances the experience for all the competing teams.
What is Contest Mode in Vesper’s Host Dungeon
The Contest Mode is a special mode for the first-ever dungeon race in Destiny 2. It is more challenging than the Normal Mode as it caps all players on 1985 Power Level, ensuring no team gets an additional edge while competing in the race. In addition to the Power Level cap, there are numerous banned weapons and equipment items for the sake of competition. Meaning, that players cannot use the banned items while competing in the dungeon race.

Vesper’s Host Dungeon Contest Mode Rewards
As players race through the content of the Vesper’s Host dungeon on Contest Mode, they must complete all the encounters and loot the final chests in the dungeon to complete the dungeon on Contest Mode. Completing the dungeon in contest mode rewards players with the following guaranteed rewards.

The contest mode of Vesper’s Host dungeon is still available now and only one fireteam has been confirmed by Bungie for securing the first spot in the race. According to Bungie, the security team is analyzing the teams for second and third place. The official announcement of teams securing the second and third place will be announced next week.
