In FPS tactical shooters like Counter-Strike, the aim is the single most impactful thing a player can have, which can determine the fate of his skill set. Counter-Strike is mostly regarded as one of the planet’s hardest first-person shooters because a player needs to be precise with his movement and crosshair placement to kill his enemy.
As it is harder than any other FPS title, it has a lot of competition. Whether that’ll be your friends or some randoms you find while playing matchmaking. One thing is certain: if you’re good at the game and have beaten someone badly in the game, They will always want to play 1v1 with you. Now in CS: GO, playing 1v1 was simple; you just had to add your friend to the game, and then you would have to load the map and start playing 1v1.
But in CS2 that is not the case. So in this blog, I will tell you how you can 1v1 your friend in three different ways. Each of them has pros and cons, and you would have to be okay with them until Valve comes up with something more stable.
In the first two methods, you would have to set up your IP address to be accessible by your friend so that he can connect to your home network without getting the “Unable to Establish a Connection With the Game Server” error. So firstly let’s go through these methods, and then I will explain how you can set up your IP.
If you need help from a pro booster to play 1v1 on your behalf so that you can win the game easily then you can definitely choose our cs2 boosting services. We have professional players who are available to easily dominate the 1v1 match.
First play on an official map:
Now there are a lot of official maps that are present in the game. You can play any one of them with your friends. Firstly, you have to load up a map using your developer console because loading the map directly will add bots to it and whatnot.
If you don’t know how to use your console, then here you go. Go to settings, now navigate towards the game, and click on it. The very first option would state, “Enable Developer Console.” Turn it on and you’re done.
Now all you have to do is load up a map with their specific command.
Here’s a list of the map commands. You can just copy them and paste them into your console to load up the map.
- Map De_edin
- Map De_basalt
- Map De_whistle
- Map De_palais
- Map De_train
- Map Ar_baggage
- Map Ar_pool_day
- Map Ar_shoots
- Map Cs_italy
- Map Cs_office
- Map De_ancient
- Map De_anubis.
- Map: De_dust2
- Map De_inferno
- Map De_mirage
- Map De_nuke
- Map De_overpass
- Map De_vertigo.
Put any one of them in your console and hit enter, and that map will load up. Now all you have to do is kick the bots, use these commands, and start playing the game with your friends.
- Bot_kick for kick (kicking the bots)
- mp_round_restart_delay (put the number of seconds you want the next round to begin after)
- mp_free_armor 1 (for giving armor)’
- Mp_halftime_duration 6.
- Mp_freezetime 4.
- mp_maxrounds (put how many rounds you want to play)
- Mp_restartgame 1 (this will restart the game from round 1 with all of the commands applied).
After doing all of this, open your game console and enter “status.” This will show a bunch of information about the server; you only have to copy your IP address from there, and it will look something like this: 122.158.7.105:27015. Copy it and give it to your friend if he is on the same LAN network as you; if not, then you would have to set your IP address in a certain way, which I will teach you in a bit.
Play on a Workshop Map:
Playing on a workshop map is good for 1v1s since they are catered for 1v1s specifically. The caveat, however, is that you and your friend have to subscribe to the same map. So the guest will have to go through a download page before he can play.
So go to the workshop tab in the main menu, and at the bottom left you’ll see a tab that says to the workshop,” and select any map that you like. After selecting the map, click on the subscribe button, and it’ll automatically download the map in your game. Now rinse and repeat the commands that I’ve given above and start the match with your buddy.

How can you set your IP for 1v1s?
Now this is a must-do step; without it, you or your friend will not be able to connect to the server to play the game. It’s a little bit complicated, but I will try to make it as simple as it can get.
First step:
Load up cmd as an administrator and copy this command into it: “IP CONFIG, and hit enter. Now it will show a bunch of information, but you need to get your default gateway from there. Copy it from there and paste it into your Internet browser. It will load up your modem’s localhosted website. Now simply log into it (the credentials will be on the back of your modem).
Now you have to look for port forwarding. Now I cannot exactly pinpoint where you can get that tab from since every modem’s site is coded differently, but the thing you are looking for is port forwarding. So search around until you find it; after finding it, go back to cmd and grab your IPv4 address. Make sure to only grab numbers and not the whole line and paste that IPv4 address into the tab that states “IP Address.”.
Now scroll down until you find a radio button or port selector, and on there select TCP and UDP as your protocols. After that, paste “27015” in your WAN starting point, which would be right beneath the select protocol button. Make sure to paste it in both your starting and end WAN ports.
Apply everything, and the first step is done.
Second Step:
Now go to What is my IP address.com or to ipchicken.com, copy your public IP address, and give that to your friend. But please keep in mind that this IP address is sensitive, as it can be used to take you offline or can also take control of your PC remotely. So only share this with your friends or people you know.
After grabbing that IP, give it to your friend and let him connect to the IP address via CS2 Console. If he manages to get connected, then congratulations, you can officially 1v1 your friend in CS2. If he can’t, then you should recheck all of the steps I have stated and make sure you haven’t missed anything.
Find an empty community server:
So you can also 1v1 your friend in a third-party community server, and this is the fastest way to play with your friend. Just connect to any 1v1 empty that you would find on the community tab, which is right beside the matchmaking tab in the game’s main menu. Click on it, and you’ll be able to find one.
After connecting to the server of your liking, open the developer console and paste this command into it: “STATUS.” It’ll give you a bunch of information about the server’s network, but you only need to grab the server’s IP address and have to share it with your friends. After that, your friend would be easily able to connect to the server through that IP and would be able to play with you.
Conclusion:
Each of the methods has its pros and cons. Finding an empty 1v1 server with good ping is difficult. Playing on a workshop map or an official CS2 map would set you back in the IP setup process, and it will become lengthy. So there’s no right choice here; you just have to make a choice and play with its consequences.
