Discover everything you need to know about all the hidden secrets and easter eggs in Area 99 Warzone.
Area 99 in Call of Duty: Warzone has hidden secrets and Easter eggs that increase the gaming experience. There are little Archie’s figurines and signed pics from Archie that say positive. I think they are clues. There is a switch by one in the mannequin building. The calendar in Holiday Nuke Town looks like it has a hidden watermark. The colors on the calendar also mean something. That also references a missile silo in Verdansk. There is a map called Arsenal that can be interacted with. Guardian Killstreak is another easter egg which is from the previous Black Ops games. You can also find pods that act as living quarters for the people who stayed in Area 99.
All Hidden Secrets and Easter Eggs
Here are some notable hidden secrets and Easter eggs in Area 99 Warzone.
Mannequin Challenge
Scattered throughout the map, especially near the mannequin factory, are mannequins whose heads and arms can be shot off. There’s no full solution has been found yet while players have speculated about a deeper Easter egg associated with these mannequins.
Specialist Bonus Unlock
The game also offers an Easter egg that allows players to permanently unlock the Specialist Bonus in Warzone 4.0. This includes specific in-game actions that grant players enhanced abilities.
Secret Rooms and Weapons
Most players have discovered hidden rooms within Area 99 containing powerful weapons and loot. Getting into these rooms often requires solving puzzles or finding specific in-game items.
Unexplored Mysteries
Some players believe that Area 99 has more undiscovered Easter eggs. That hints at ongoing mysteries yet to be solved.
Area 99 Is Hiding Something
The Black Ops 6 integration into Warzone has been an interesting one as there have been bugs and there’s been a new map by the name of area 99. The cool thing about this map is essentially the entire map and the backstory behind it is an Easter egg in of itself. There was a lot more to this map than originally meets the eye. There are a lot of Easter eggs on this map. There are references to previous games, a ton of references to New Town of course, and there’s something that has not been discovered as of yet.
I believe there is a much bigger Easter egg on this map that is yet to be figured out. We will cover all of that in this guide but first I need to give you a little bit more of a backstory of what is going on with Area 99. Area 99 is a division of the CIA specifically the advanced technology and application division. The same one that created Cradle within the Black Ops 6 campaign. Now, on this map, it takes place in Nevada at some called Echo Ridge weapon station. As far as what they are doing here they are building nukes, building nuke towns and they are building mannequins to essentially test these various nukes.
They have a mascot known as Archie Adams. He is the mascot of the Nuke Town facility. This facility was placed in 1951 and was later abandoned sometime before the’ 60s. With this facility, there are a ton of little things that we can find across the map that tell us a little bit more about what is going on.
First off, we have the facility itself. There’s a reactor where the nukes are made. You can find a mannequin facility and they build the mannequins. There is the Nuke Town shipping but there are also pods and dormitories. In other words, everyone who worked here also lived here they had a very strict rule on everyone’s working essentially all the time. There are even areas on the map where we can see the founders of this facility as well as Archie Adams together in a picture.
One of the first things that I find is in the bunker underneath the test site location. In this bunker, they have a ton of maps. There is a map of area 99 and a map of nuke town but the one I wanted to look at is a map of Nevada.
On this map, it actually shows us where the Echo Ridge testing station actually is as well as a bunch of other sites as well. I’m not sure whether these are Nuke Town sites or whether these are more facilities like area 99 but they are labeled on the map as well.
Also, in this same room in the middle, there is a chalkboard labeled with Project K. It shows some sort of device that they were developing here at the Echoridge weapon testing station. As we can find out if we go and look at another wall. This happens to be something we are very familiar with from previous Black Ops games. This is the guardian, yes, the Kill Streak from previous Black Ops games.
They developed this in Area 99. We can see an early prototype broken down which is the early prototype of the Guardian. Now what is super interesting is that in Black Ops 4 there is a map called Arsenal which is the Diaysler robotics facility. This is the company that essentially makes all of the kill streaks within that game. However, one of them that is not made by Diaysler is the guardian. Now, we have an explanation for this made by the CIA in the advanced technology and applications division at Area 99 in the year 1958. It says that on the schematics. There can be a bunch of little things found like this throughout the map references to New Town even references to previous games.
Mannequins
We need to go to the mannequin manufacturing facility which is on the far end of the map. We might have a couple of people here with us. First things first, when we get into here there’s going to be some mannequins. In the pregame like any Warzone, we’re going to be lagging. There’s a bunch of mannequins when you shoot them their heads do not pop off you can’t interact with their arms at all. Also, some mannequins are hanging from the ceiling none of which have clothes on and they don’t look like the ones on Nuke Town. However, when we spawn into the game here something changes. Mannequins spawn and they’re different in every single game that you play.
They’re in different locations but there is one main difference with the mannequins that spawn in when you’re actually in the game. When we get in, there’s a bunch of mannequins that you can interact with. This is similar to how you do on Nuke Town. Grab a gun and open the backside door of the facility. Right where we looked before, there’s another mannequin that’s spawned in. This one you can interact with and you can shoot the head off the mannequin. There’s a bunch of these that are going to spawn throughout this building. Now a couple of interesting things I believe it is only this facility that has these mannequins in it. Any of them that have clothes on you can shoot their heads off.
