Valve has finally given access to Deadlock Hero labs to players for a limited time. You can now access the new heroes that are in development. Valve is famous for character designs. And they are not stopping getting updates for Deadlock. They are developing seven new heroes that will be made part of the official roaster soon. You can now try out these new heroes with Deadlock Hero Labs.
Deadlock is the latest title from Valve currently in Early Access and it already made a name for itself, climbing the number of players with over 100,000 every day on Steam. The hero shooter mechanics mixed in a MOBA playstyle surprisingly blend together well, allowing players to experience a new genre of casual and competitive game.
Here’s everything you need to know about Deadlock and trying out seven new heroes using Deadlock Hero labs.
Deadlock Hero Labs
Deadlock is still early in development and is far away from full release. The map, heroes, balancing, matchmaking, and more are constantly in flux, as the game is still at an early stage of development despite its popularity. However, you can now try more heroes that are in development throughout the weekend. You can also check out how to use new Quickbuy mechanics in Deadlock.
Deadlock Hero Labs Access time
Normally you can’t access Deadlock Hero Labs as it’s a developers-only feature where they share work on new Deadlock heroes. You will be required to play 50 standard matches to unlock the Labs feature. However, this has now changed and every player can access the mode.
You will be able to access Deadlock Hero Lab throughout November 25, 2024. Lab mode will be available throughout the week. Before it was only available for two hours from 6pm to 8pm PST.
Valve also deployed a new patch on November 21, 2024, helping with matchmaking. More changes come to a few heroes, map, and some other balance changes.
There have been a few issues with matchmaking in Deadlock and MMR didn’t work as it was supposed to. However, this was addressed in the latest patch. Devs added “Each player will have a ‘core’ MMR and your MMR per hero will be offsets of your core MMR,”
If you’re new to a hero or trying out one, you will be put in a low MMR lobby to help you try out the hero and learn its mechanics. Valve also revealed that they are judging MMR based on the last 20 matches with a specific hero.
