What’s New in Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred & Season 6

Diablo 4’s first expansion (DLC), Vessel of Hatred has been released today along with its new Season called Season of Hatred Rising. With players being excited to jump on a new adventure continuing from Diablo 4 main story ending, there are tons of changes coming to various core systematic mechanics.

In this article, we will be giving you an overview of everything new in Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred alongside the systematic changes in Season 6.

New Content in Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred Expansion

Vessel of Hatred expansion is now live with brand-new content covering the aftermath of the main story of Diablo 4. Players will begin the main journey of Vessel of Hatred where the original story ended which will take them to a newly added region called Nahantu.

  • Nahantu region is located south of the map and it is a lush green jungle with various new enemy types offering new Strongholds, dungeons, and many more secrets.
  • The biggest addition for the expansion is probably the new Spiritborn class. The Spiritborn Calls upon the spirit guardian to assist in combat which includes the gorilla, jaguar, eagle, and centipede. Instead of Spiritborn wearing its own armor, it fuses armor within the character itself.
  • Alongside the main story progression of Vessel of Hatred, there are several other end-game activities like Kurast Undercity and the Dark Citadel dungeon. The Dark Citadel is the first-ever co-op dungeon that requires at least 2-4 players to communicate with each other to progress through the dungeon due to various puzzles that cannot be completed alone.

Major Changes in Diablo 4 Season 6 – Season of Hatred Rising

Now, let’s talk about the main systematic changes coming in with Season 6 and Vessel of Hatred.

  • The new leveling system makes Level 60 the max level, instead of 50, and grants you a total of 71 Skill Points. You will be able to enhance your character/class strength even further before moving on to the Paragon system.
  • The changes to Paragon Boards will allow players to equip a maximum of 5 Paragon Boards including the starting one. Every Paragon Board now comes with a new Legendary Node and each class has received a new Paragon Board. Moreover, the number of Paragon Points has been increased from 200 to 300.
  • The difficulty system has also changed and players starting fresh can only switch up to Penitent difficulty starting with Normal. For further difficulties, players will have to reach Level 60 (new level cap) to unlock the Pit from Tier 1-20. From there, players need to beat Pit Tiers on a new Torment difficulty until they reach the max tier of the Pit corresponding to the selected difficulty. Clearing every 15 Pits, a new Torment difficulty level will unlock, with the final one being Torment IV which unlocks after beating Pit Tier 65.
  • The Sacred items have been removed from the game, but the Ancestral Items are now more powerful and rare.
  • Runewords feature will play an immaculate role in providing various buffs to the character’s abilities.

These were some of the major changes/additions to Diablo 4 Season 6 and Vessel of Hatred. You can read the full patch notes for all changes on Blizzard’s official blog page.
