XDefiant Season 2: The Highwaymen is the biggest update to the game offering a ton of new content including a brand-new faction called The Highwaymen, three new maps, three new weapons, a new battle pass to grind, and a new game mode. The new game mode in XDefiant is called Bomb and the players who are familiar with Rainbow Six Siege or Call of Duty’s Search and Destroy mode, have a general idea of the new mode.

What is Bomb! Mode in XDefiant

Bomb is the newly added game mode in XDefiant with Season 2: The Highwaymen offering a new approach to the tactical gameplay and coordination among each team. Unlike the casual and ranked mode of XDefiant, the Bomb mode doesn’t offer unlimited lives throughout the match, instead, every player has one life for every round.

As we mentioned above, the Bomb mode is similar to Call of Duty’s Search and Destroy mode or Rainbow Six Siege game. Rainbow Six Siege game is a more prominent example as it includes abilities generally like in XDefiant.

What is the Format of Bomb Mode in XDefiant

The format of Bomb mode in XDefiant is simple and similar to Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six Siege. There are two sides in the Bomb mode, Attackers and Defenders, each one with a corresponding objective of invading a site to plant the bomb or protect a site to prevent the bomb from planting. Each side has 6 players, a total 12 players in a match.

Moreover, the maps for Bomb mode have two bomb sites from which attackers can choose any one strategically and defenders have to protect the site or defuse accordingly.

Here are all the rules of Bomb mode in XDefiant.

  • Attackers: Develop a strategic approach to attack one of two sites on the map to deploy the bomb and protect it until all the foes are eliminated or the time runs out.
  • Defenders: Secure both sites strategically to prevent Attackers from deploying the bomb. If the Attackers have planted the bomb, they need to defuse it before the bomb explodes.
  • Each round has a time of 1:59 (2min). if attackers fail to plant the bomb before the time runs out, they lose.
  • Both Attackers and Defenders will get to choose a faction at the start of every round.
  • If the chosen faction has a charged ultimate, the game automatically locks the player to that faction for the round. However, players can change the faction but it will reset the ultimate meter.
  • There are 12 rounds in total for the match and the team to secure 6 rounds first wins.

What are the Best Factions to Use in Bomb Game Mode – XDefiant

The Bomb game mode goes well in XDefiant due to various Factions, each one with a unique set of abilities that help players create offensive and defensive plays accordingly. Below you will find the list of factions that are suitable for the Bomb game mode.

  • Best Factions for Attackers: Phantoms (with Blitz Shield), DedSec (with Hijack), Echelon (with Intel Suit), and The Highwaymen (with M79).
  • Best Factions for Defenders: Phantoms (with Mag Barrier), The Highwaymen (with Scrap Turret), Libertad (with Biovida Boost), and Cleaners (with Incinerator Drone).

Moreover, a couple of changes including the flashbangs will be more effective in Bomb mode rather than grenades. It will help both attackers and defenders to get a free kill off a blind enemy.
